Artistic talent clearly runs in the family, as distinguished Wiltshire-based pet portrait artist Annie Berry’s son has been awarded a sought-after scholarship to the acclaimed Stonar School.

Tobias, who is currently in Year 6 at Pewsey-based Prep School St Francis, was up against competition from a myriad of schools – some local, some further afield – whom he modestly describes as being ‘much better than me.’

Head at St Francis, David Lee, enthused: ‘This is brilliant news for Tobias, and for our Art Department as a whole, who I know have helped Tobias immeasurably with compiling his portfolio and helping his confidence. Tobias’ art work has an incredible use of colour and movement, and when I looked through his portfolio I could see some really strong artistic skills.’

When asked about his scholarship Tobias said: ‘I was really annoyed, because it was my birthday the day I had to hand in my portfolio, and if I had been able to use my birthday presents I would have been able to do much better work.’

Well done Tobias!
