The Curriculum

Aldro is proud of its proven success in preparing young people to attend leading independent senior schools. Despite the school’s heritage and traditions, it offers a modern, progressive and innovative curriculum that will prepare both girls and boys for the future.

Games & The Arts

The arts are comprehensively covered with a dedicated art and DT block and an active drama, LAMDA and music programme. Sport plays a huge role at Aldro, encouraging fun through participation in all sports whilst improving skill levels and developing an understanding of the values of team sports.

Pastoral Care

If children are to thrive at school, they must first feel happy. Aldro’s strong pastoral model and tangible sense of community, together with the values that stems from its Christian foundation, underpin pupils’ day-to-day lives at the school, helping to ensure that each child is uniquely known and individually valued.

Recent Scholarships

This year, 24 percent of pupils achieved scholarships to Charterhouse, Harrow, Wellington, Cranleigh, King’s Worcester and Sherborne across a broad range of disciplines (academic, sport, drama, music, design and innovation, art). This year, pupils are also heading to Tonbridge, Winchester, RGS, Radley, Marlborough, Oundle, Dean Close, KESW and Seaford College.

Head Teacher’s Philosophy

Children flourish at Aldro because the school is a supportive and welcoming community where each child is known and valued individually. Aspirational academically, pupils are encouraged to pursue excellence, whilst the extensive co-curricular programme gives each child a chance to develop important life skills and to discover individual passions.

Outstanding Characteristics

Nestled in the beautiful Surrey countryside, Aldro gives pupils the freedom to flourish. Around the grounds, children play a variety of sports: rowing on the lake, learning the rules of pétanque, or playing pirates on the school’s very own adventure island.  They might also be rehearsing for an upcoming play, singing in the choir, sketching or heading off to the woods for yet another outdoor education lesson. Aldro life is guaranteed to be fun, varied and stimulating.
