School Visits

We host regular open events and taster sessions throughout the year. Why not pop in and see why an Elmhurst education is the right one for your son or daughter?

The Curriculum

At Elmhurst, we understand the importance of a curriculum with literacy at its heart. We also value each individual, provide a broad, challenging curriculum to enable pupils to thrive and to support each child in their preparations for 11+ entry to local grammar and independent schools.

Games & the Arts

Sport, Drama and outdoor learning together with Art and Music ensure life at Elmhurst is always varied and performance opportunities plentiful. Children are encouraged to take part in a range of activities through our curriculum and extensive extra-curricular clubs programme.

Pastoral Care

At Elmhurst, we celebrate children’s achievements through certificates and house points and encourage children to follow the Brilliant Behaviour Checklist. This creates a kind and respectful learning environment where they choose to work together, listening to each other and developing curiosity for learning. We pride ourselves on our ability to nurture the brilliance in every individual. Within our community we have 5 values that we hold close to us and the staff are encouraged to be: BRAVE, RESPECTFUL, KIND, DETERMINED AND CURIOUS.

Head Teacher’s Philosophy

We truly know what is best for our learners in the classroom. I believe that we know them as individuals and our strength is to develop them as individuals, working with parents in partnership to find the right next school when the time comes. In opening our doors to girls we do so with the knowledge that we understand how to value each individual and create the best opportunities for them to thrive.
