The Curriculum

The importance of English, maths and science is emphasised at the school, but within a broad curriculum. This includes art, drama, French, history, geography, ICT, music and sport.

Sport & The Arts

Netball, hockey, cricket, rugby, football, swimming, dance, athletics and gymnastics. The school participates in borough, ISA and London school events. Drama and music are encouraged. There are summer plays, Christmas and spring concerts, as well as several school choirs, an orchestra, string and wind groups and music technology.

Pastoral Care

Staff work as a team to ensure all children are listened to and feel valued. The school council, consisting of elected representatives from each class, puts forward suggestions to improve the school, with many ideas put into practice. Teachers communicate regularly with parents, meaning that concerns are dealt with at the earliest opportunity. An Art Buddies programme encourages children from year six to buddy with a younger child, building a relationship of support and guidance. The school coordinates with Pets As Therapy and children enjoy the wellbeing benefits of spending time with a trained canine friend.

Recent Scholarships

In 2025, 57 percent of children were awarded at least one scholarship. Thirty-eight total scholarships were awarded, including 19 academic and 16 in sport/music/dance/drama/art/STEM.

Head Teacher’s Philosophy

To keep children at the heart of everything KCP does as a purposeful, hardworking and nurturing place. A small, supportive and vibrant community, Kew College Prep aims to develop children into independent and critical thinkers with a natural curiosity to learn and discover.

Outstanding Characteristics

Key strengths are the academic results that children achieve and the top schools that they go on to after 11+. Teachers identify each child’s needs and deliver extra challenge and support where appropriate. Fees are highly competitive in comparison to local prep schools and offer excellent value. There is a happy and warm community feel.
