Curriculum

Pupils follow a tailored curriculum designed around individual strengths, interests and aspirations. Maximum class sizes of 18 enable highly personalised teaching, complemented by weekly timetabled enrichment and extracurriculars. Children are noticed and their talents celebrated, wherever they may lie. Learning is supported by strong pastoral care, specialist teachers, excellent arts and STEM programmes, and a culture that promotes curiosity, confidence and independent thinking.

Sport & The Arts

Pupils enjoy a vibrant arts and sports programme. A broad range of sports – including judo, fencing, rock climbing and sailing – is offered, supported on site by King Edward Hall and world-class local facilities, such as 2012 Olympics venues. The arts are a particular strength: regular concerts, productions, exhibitions and visiting artist workshops allow pupils to develop creativity, confidence and performance skills, with opportunities extending into the sixth form.

Pastoral Care

Pastoral provision is integrated into every facet of school life. Small classes and daily tutor meetings allow staff to adopt a ‘high support, low pressure’ approach to helping every pupil achieve more than they believed possible. Staff create an environment in which pupils feel seen and heard, with specialist SEN and mental health support, expert-led workshops and guest speakers. For year seven pupils, there is a tailored first term transition featuring an exciting outdoor adventure trip.

Exit Destinations

Strong results see leavers progress to Oxbridge, Russell Group and specialist universities (such as LSE, UAL and the Royal Academy of Music) as well as international destinations (including Haverford and the University of Minnesota).

Head’s Philosophy

To place the individual at the heart of education, recognising that pupils thrive when they feel known, supported and challenged. With strong pastoral care, small classes and a culture of kindness, we nurture confident, curious young people who think independently, take risks and love learning.
