The Curriculum

A broad curriculum and co-curricular activities are offered, with opportunities to tailor options. Class sizes are small, and pupils are nurtured and challenged. Achievement is high; we are ranked in the top 5% for value-added.

Games & The Arts

words) Sports provision is excellent with expert coaching. Facilities include: indoor pool, sports hall, golf course and an AstroTurf. The arts are popular and of high quality, with art studios, large performance spaces, and choirs available. Many pupils play one or more instruments.

Pastoral Care

Rated excellent for both academic achievement and pastoral care by the Independent Schools Inspectorate, pupils’ physical and emotional well-being is paramount. The strong sense of community is key to ensuring pupils feel valued and well-supported in becoming the best version of themselves. Our boarding school ethos benefits day and boarding pupils alike and staff know pupils exceptionally well.

University Places

90% pupils secure places at their first choice university, including Russell Group institutions. Others progress to degree-level apprenticeships.

Head Teacher’s Philosophy

Natasha Dangerfield has been described as a dynamic presence, and this has been imparted in and around the School. Her intention is that pupils work hard to be their best, but with the understanding that they are growing up and where mistakes are made, more creative options can always be found. This is underpinned by the School’s ethos of operating as a greenhouse, not a hothouse, and nurturing excellence.

Outstanding Characteristics

An inspired community set within 210 acres of parkland grounds and a breathtaking Victorian mansion, providing the optimum environment for children to flourish. The abundance of outdoor space for sports and a broad co-curricular programme, plus a programme of continued investment in classroom, sports and boarding facilities, including an independent boarding space for Year 13s, supports a holistic approach to education and pupil development.
