British-made luxury is well and thriving
Ever wanted to know where your favourite dress or jumper came from? These homegrown talents make their wares right here in Britain, and have grown quite the global fanbase. From Edeline Lee and HERD to DEPLOY London, these are the brilliant fashion brands that manufacture in the UK.Â

Leather goods brand NAVVY takes its name from ‘navigator’, the colloquial term for 18th century labourers who worked on major civil engineering projects in the UK. Harnessing the group’s ethos of taking pride in their work, the brand creates ‘tool bags for the modern workforce’ in its navvy-built, Victorian London workshop.

Designer Jessica Kayll hand paints all of her prints in her London studio, before they are are digitally printed onto silk and crafted into luxe resortwear by her go-to atelier – which resides just a stone’s throw away in the same city.

Specialising in heritage knitwear, Herd wants to revive sheep farming traditions in England. Using 100 percent Bluefaced Leicester breed sheep fleece, the brand sources its wool, spins and knits it in the Northern Uplands of Yorkshire, Lancashire and Cumbria.
One of Britain’s leading wedding dress designers, Halfpenny London creates mix-and-match bridal separates that can born in different combinations throughout the big day. This small-batch brand is known for its vintage take on the floral dress, paying homage to quirky English Victoriana styles. Many of the dresses are using offcuts and deadstock fabric, and all items are made by a network of UK-based seamstresses and craftswomen. Read our Q&A with the founders here.
Made by hand in England, Edeline Lee’s sophisticated womenswear is made with a modern ‘Future Lady’ in mind. Her designs, which regularly feature at LFW, are coveted among the style set.

B Corp certified fashion brand DEPLOY London crafts all its garments in the UK capital, taking a zero-waste approach that spans design, product and business. Read our Q&A with DEPLOY London’s founder here.
Proudly making its signature tailored tweed coats and jackets (plus its hats) in Britain, Holland Cooper creates garments inspired by the great outdoors, using heritage British fabrics.

Founded by sisters Rosie van Cutsem and Lucia Ruck Keene in 2013, TROY London makes its collections of classic country-inspired coats, shirts, knitwear and accessories in partnership with UK-based mills and craftspeople.
Founded in 2017 by Hannah Cawley, Cawley Studio creates two collections a year using natural materials (cotton, linen, wool and sheepskin). Each garment is designed, hand cut and constructed in London.

For SS23, luxury label L Saha unveiled a collection created in its London atelier, made from natural fabrics designed to have a minimal environmental footprint.
Designed by founder Charlotte Cameron in Oxfordshire, Berjoan’s collections are made in small batches in the UK using low-impact and natural fibre textiles sourced from mills across Europe.

With a 30-strong team at its Long Eaton factory making t-shirts, Sunspel also crafts its cashmere sweaters in Scotland, footwear in Northampton, socks in Derby, ans its belts in Rutland.
Founded in 1784, John Smedley has been making the finest knitwear in its factory in Lea Mills, Derbyshire, ever since. It’s become renowned for its merino wool and Sea Island cotton styles.
