It isn’t,’ says Polina Arutiunian, an astrologer and spiritual advisor at Nebula. ‘Review is its own kind of progress, and whatever you sort out now tends to hold better than what you rush.’ Here, she shares her horoscope predictions for October 2026.

Dates To Keep In Mind This Month

October asks us to take a deep breath before leaping in, says Polina. ‘This is a time for looking back over things rather than charging ahead. Two planets turn retrograde, meaning they appear to move backwards across the sky from where we watch them – in astrology, that’s read as a signal to revisit rather than begin,’ she explains. ‘Venus goes first, on 3 October, bringing relationships, money, and your own values back into view. Mercury follows later in the month, and conversations, plans, and agreements can get less straightforward while it does.’

Venus Retrograde In Scorpio And Libra: 3 October – 14 November

‘Venus turns retrograde in Scorpio on 3 October, then slips back into Libra on 25 October,’ notes Polina. ‘This is a stretch for reassessing relationships, attraction, trust, your values, and money, rather than starting something new. Old feelings may resurface, along with unfinished relationship stories and questions about commitment, jealousy, or balance. Money-wise, it can be a good moment to look again at your spending, at shared resources, and at what you genuinely value, instead of deciding in the heat of a passing mood. Venus turns direct on 14 November, though its retrograde shadow – the stretch afterwards when things are still settling back into place – runs until 15 December.’

Sun In Scorpio: 23 October – 21 November

Another astrological event of note this month comes on 23 October, when the Sun enters Scorpio. ‘This will pull our attention toward deeper emotional and financial ground,’ says Polina. ‘The back half of the month cares less about how things look and more about what is happening underneath: trust, intimacy, shared resources, obligations, long-running patterns, and whatever is still unresolved. It’s a useful window for looking honestly at what you might want to change, rather than working to keep everything exactly as it is.’

Mercury Retrograde In Scorpio: 24 October – 13 November

Then there’s retrograde number two. ‘Mercury turns retrograde on 24 October, adding one more layer of review to the end of the month,’ Polina tells us. ‘Conversations, plans, documents, and agreements may want revisiting, and information you skimmed past the first time can come back into focus. Because Mercury and Venus are both retrograde from late October into mid-November, relationships, money, and communication tend to tangle together – especially where something has gone unsaid or half-understood.’
