Two hotels, two moods: Alanna Ospina samples both of Amyth's Mykonos properties

Mykonos is an island of contrasts: quiet coves and cobbled streets on one side, high-energy beach clubs and late-night dining on the other. Amyth’s two properties on the island capture both moods (the collection’s third hotel is in Nicosia, Cyprus). Agios Stefanos is a 17-room hillside retreat with views over a sheltered bay; Super Paradise is a larger, design-focused property set just above one of Mykonos’ most famous beaches. Different in scale and setting, they share the same mix of contemporary Cycladic style, attentive service and an easy, unhurried atmosphere.

Twin Hotel Review: Amyth Agios Stefanos & Amyth Super Paradise, Mykonos

An Amyth hotel at dusk

Amyth of Mykonos Super Paradise is a design-focused property set just above one of Mykonos’ most famous beaches.

Stay

Agios Stefanos is intimate and understated. Rooms and suites are finished in natural tones, textured fabrics and pale wood, with many featuring a private plunge pool, hot tub or open-air shower. A shared pool and sun terrace look out towards the bay, with Agios Stefanos beach just below.

Super Paradise is a chic and bohemian retreat, with 50 rooms and suites arranged like a Cycladic village, designed by Yannis Panagopoulos. Interiors combine terrazzo floors, sculptural lighting and local ceramics, with terraces angled towards sea views. Choices range from poolside doubles to hillside suites with private infinity pools. Both properties offer spa treatments, a small gym and in-room yoga or meditation sessions on request.

Do

From both hotels, it’s easy to explore the island. Take a boat to the archaeological site of Delos, wander Mykonos town’s maze of lanes and hidden chapels, or spend a day at quieter beaches like Agios Sostis. Agios Stefanos is well placed for harbour front cafés and boutique shopping in town.

Mykonos town is lined with independent shops selling linen clothing, gold jewellery and handwoven baskets. Look out for island-made ceramics, olive oil-based skincare and jars of wild thyme honey. For food souvenirs, the weekly market is the place to pick up capers, cheeses and local wine.

From Super Paradise, a short walk leads to the beach below, known for its clear water and sociable atmosphere, while still offering a quiet vantage point above it all. If you want ‘scene’, Amyth Super Paradise is minutes from (in)famous Scorpios and JackieO’ for campness and cocktails.

Eat

Breakfast at both hotels is à la carte: platters of fruit, Greek yoghurt with honey, warm pastries and fresh coffee.

Small tables flank the pool at Agios Stefanos with a menu covering Mediterranean favourites – grilled sea bass, crisp calamari, pistachio baklava. The hummus trio is hard to beat.

Super Paradise has a sun-soaked destination restaurant, Amyth Kouzina, serving up locally-sourced ingredients – a romantic spot for dinner.

When Is The Best Time To Visit?

May and June bring warm days, gentle breezes and quieter beaches. September offers the same slower rhythm, with the sea still warm for swimming. July and August are peak season for high octane living when Mykonos hums with beach clubs, late dinners and long nights. Agios Stefanos remains calm throughout the year, while Super Paradise takes on a livelier edge in high summer, with the option to retreat from the buzz within minutes.

The Final Word

Two hotels, two moods: switch between serene hillside calm and a front-row seat to Mykonos’ most famous beach.
