Netflix’s jetsetting comedy is back
While The Four Seasons shares a name with a luxury hotel chain, Franki Valli’s band, a pizza topping and Vivaldi’s violin concertos, Netflix’s series takes us back to the root: our traditional four divisions of the year, in this case divided by group holidays.
The eight-part comedy drama centres on three married couples – Nick (Steve Carell) and Anne (Kerri Kenney-Silver), Kate (Tina Fey) and Jack (Will Forte), and Danny (Colman Domingo) and Claude (Marco Calvani) – who embark on a seasonal getaway together every winter, spring, summer and autumn. As writer, director and star Tina Fey puts it: ‘You don’t see them at home, you don’t see them at work. It’s just these friends on vacation.’ But their carefully laid annual plans crumble when Nick decides to leave Anne. (And as emotions rise and fall across each episode, the soundtrack does indeed turn to Vivaldi’s recognisable concertos.)
Based on Alan Alda’s 1981 romcom of the same name, each season’s holiday is split over two episodes, beginning with a spring lake house long weekend, before the group journeys to a tropical eco resort in the summer, an inn in the fall and a ski trip in the winter. Wondering where these spots were filmed? We’ve gathered everything below.
After a sad ending to season 1, the group resolved to plan more trips in the future. That brings us to season 2, which is set to land on Netflix in full on 28 May 2026. Here’s what to expect, plus the new filming locations we can expect to see on screen.

Where Is The Four Seasons Filmed?
The first season of Netflix’s The Four Seasons was shot in two main locations: the state of New York and Puerto Rico. As Fey puts it: ‘New York is a beautiful and magical state. It’s a really, really beautiful place to get these four seasons.’
For episodes one and two at the lake house, Cold Spring, Newburgh and Fishkill in upstate New York were all used for filming. In episodes five and six, when the gang descends on their alma mater to visit their children at parents’ weekend, the real college we see is Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York. And for winter in episodes seven and eight, we are back in upstate New York.
However in episodes three and four, the crew reluctantly descends on a more sunsoaked spot: an eco-resort chosen by Nick’s new girlfriend Ginny (Erika Henningsen). For this, the team swapped New York for Puerto Rico.

What About Season 2?
Netflix teases we have another winter, spring, summer and fall in store for our all-weather friends in The Four Seasons season 2, this time without Nick but with Ginny’s baby bump in tow (and Ginny herself, and eventually the baby).
That looks like it includes the beach and the mountains, the former reportedly the Jersey Shore, where the team was spotted shooting at Ocean Grove, a coastal town with a long sandy beach and historic pier stretching into the sea.

The latter returns to the show’s bread-and-butter Hudson Valley in upstate New York, perhaps standing in for the Catskills. As the series’ co-creator Lang Fisher says, the band of friends is in ‘the beautiful mountains upstate, which we make a joke about being a little too far upstate.’ They are here to (spoilers) scatter Nick’s ashes after his untimely death at the end of season 1.
Opening several months after his death, in season 2, the group is still figuring out how to function without Nick. ‘They have to learn that Nick is gone, and they have to re-form as a group in a different configuration,’ Fey says.
Further afield, the production was also spotted in Italy, zipping around historic city squares on Vespas.
