Hotel of the Week: Win A Stay At The Maltings

Dating back to the 16th century, The Maltings was once used for malting barley for beer production. After a three-year renovation project, The Maltings opened in August 2024 as a super-stylish destination. At its heart is The Grain Store, a vaulted flint barn restaurant, with a cobbled terrace. Their take on modern British cuisine is creative yet unpretentious; on each table you will find thoughtfully sourced, simply prepared food. But it’s not all about the food – tucked away behind the games room is The Bottle Shop, its shelves lined with wines waiting to be discovered and enjoyed.

The 28 dog-friendly bedrooms span the Main House, flint cottages and converted stables. Packed full of character, each room is individually designed, with restored flintwork, marble tiles, original fireplaces and architectural quirks. Modern bathrooms and furnishings bring it right up to date. Wander down to the sea and breathe in the fresh air. On return, unwind in the bar, play chess, settle in the library and simply make yourself at home in this quiet pocket of North Norfolk.
