Looking for your next vintage bargain? This could be the event for you. London’s Mercato Metropolitano is opening the doors to its first ever Super Jumble this June, which promises a huge selection of secondhand finds. Here’s everything you need to know about the sale.
London’s Super Jumble: Everything You Need To Know
What happens when three major pre-loved pioneers come together? In this case, you get the jumble sale to end all jumble sales. TRAID, Beyond Retro and Charity Syper.Mkt have banded together for the first time to put on a one-day festival of rummaging, reusing and reimagining the future of secondhand fashion.
Inspired by the classic British jumble sale, Super Jumble will welcome 1,000 shoppers to rummage through mountains of vintage and charity shop items at fair prices. ‘The fashion industry is producing more than ever before, and there are enough garments on Earth to clothe the next six generations,’ said Maria Chenoweth, CEO of TRAID and co-founder of Super Jumble and Charity Super.Mkt. ‘Super Jumble aims to keep clothes in use, make style accessible, and increase the UK’s adoption of second-hand fashion – all for the good of the planet.’
But that’s not all. Super Jumble takes on the added dimension of a festival-like experience – complete with a live DJ. ‘The jumble sale gave me my start in fashion in the 70s and 80s – the thrill of the hunt, the community, the joy,’ added Wayne Hemingway, co-founder of HemingwayDesign, Red or Dead, Charity Super.Mkt, and Classic Car Boot Sale. ‘Super Jumble brings that magic back, but on a massive scale. It’s fun, affordable, and a necessary answer to fast fashion’s impact on people and the planet.’

How Does It Work?
Described as an event filled with ‘chaotic joy’, Super Jumble goes beyond the classic jumble sale with a gamified format – shoppers go elbow to elbow as they scramble for the best deals, while klaxons signal bursts of action, a DJ sets the tone and MCs narrate the event in real time. (And for those who have secured their shopping, there’s even a spot to grab some street food and a pint.)
The team at Super Jumble has also provided a handy schedule to give you a better idea of what to expect on the day:
9am: Doors open to early bird ticket holders (£7).
9.30am: The FIRST RUMBLE IN THE JUMBLE begins. Everything is priced at £7 for 45 minutes of intense rummaging.
10.15am STOP JUMBLING klaxon sounds. Attendees use self-checkout via giant venue QR codes and either exit or store items in the cloakroom.
10.30am: The SECOND RUMBLE IN THE JUMBLE kicks off. Entry is £4.50, with all items priced at £4.50.
12pm: Final entry wave begins at £2, with every item now priced at just £2 for the final round of jumbling.
2pm: Event wraps.
A digital self-checkout system will operate on the day, so make sure you have your bank card to hand .
