A preview of The Ice Cream Project 2025

It’s that time again. Returning to London for its fourth year is Anya Hindmarch’s summer concept store, which serves an array of unusual scoops of ice cream. Forget your classic chocolate and vanilla: at The Ice Cream Project, flavours are inspired by pantry items, vintage drinks and condiments, and this year’s menu is suitably quirky.

The Ice Cream Project 2025: What’s On The Menu?

New flavours for 2025 include Bisto Gravy, described as a ‘umami bomb of ice cream’ suited to those who ‘relish a sweet-meets-savoury experience’. Spice lovers, meanwhile, will be compelled to try the Flying Goose Sriracha, a creamy tomato ice cream with a chilli kick finish. And if you’re really brave, try Garner’s Pickled Onions, which sees the sharp vinegar of onion paired with the creaminess of vanilla.

Sure to be a talking point this year is the bright orange Irn-Bru sorbet, as well as olive oil ice cream – a foodie trend that emerged last summer and is sure to be a hit (sounds strange, but it works).

It’s not all savoury, though: there’s also Bird’s Custard, inspired by the nostalgic treat, Ovaltine, which is ‘marvellously malty’, and a refreshing sorbet inspired by Copella Cloudy Apple Juice. Love your morning porridge? Enjoy it in ice cream form with the Quaker Oats flavour.

In more familiar territory, diners can enjoy flavours like McVitie’s Milk Chocolate Hobnobs, Rowse Honey, and Romney’s Kendal Mint Cake. The crowd-pleasing Maldon Sea Salt sorbet is also back for another year (think salted caramel, without the caramel).

Ice cream tasting at the Anya Cafe

Handmade in Devon, the ice cream is available to try in scoops or in retro 500ml tubs to take away. There are often queues for the buzzy pop-up – but you can skip them by booking yourself in for the Blind Tasting Tea experience at the Anya Cafe next door. Here, you’ll try 15 flavours, guessing as you go with your own score card.

VISIT:

The Ice Cream Project is located on Chelsea’s Pont Street within Hindmarch’s Village Hall, a collection of rotating boutiques and pop-ups from the designer. It will run throughout the summer until 16 August 2025.
