Très chic!

Emily in Paris: she’s got it all. A job that only takes a well-timed social media post to secure success. Beautiful men vying for her heart. And a perfectly chic Parisian apartment. Feeling jealous? Live your Emily in Paris dreams with an apartment in the very same building where the hit Netflix series is filmed.

This Emily In Paris Apartment Is On The Market

‘I feel like Nicole Kidman in Moulin Rouge!’ exclaims Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) as she takes in the view from her new Parisian apartment for the very first time. She snaps a selfie, uploads the obligatory Instagram post, and her Parisian journey truly begins. Though she’s since moved on to Rome, and will soon be relocating Greece, it is Paris that will forever remain the most important city in Emily’s heart.

Where Emily Cooper resides on the fifth floor, and her series-long love interest Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) on the fourth, this apartment home is located just one level below, on the third storey of that very same building. Of course, like most TV shows, the building itself is only used for the exterior shots, while the interior scenes are shot on a soundstage to allow space for lighting and camera crews. The one exception is the stairwell which was filmed on location. Unfortunately for the team, the owners decided to redecorate and renovate the stairs between series one and two. Eager to ensure continuity in the show, the set team were forced to build a replica stairwell in the studio.

Built in 1830, the period building where Emily lives stands at the end of Place de l’Estrapade, a square in Latin Quarter of the city’s 5th arrondissement. At about 1,960 sqft, the apartment is quite large for Parisian standards and certainly bigger than Emily’s très petite abode – which grows even smaller when her best friend Mindy moves in during series one.

‘Emily’s apartment was inspired by the chambre de bonne, the maids’ rooms that were on the very top floors of Parisian buildings that still exist,’ series creator Darren Star explained in a 2024 Architectural Digest tour. ‘They have great views. You know, they have pitched ceilings, they’re super romantic.’ And while the eclectically-styled apartment we see on screen may not look exactly like the fifth-floor apartment in this real-home, it still draws plenty of inspiration from this traditional Parisian style. The building is also the perfect base from which to explore Emily’s Paris in true influencer style. Though serving French cuisine in the show, Gabriel’s restaurant L’Espirit de Gigi is actually filmed at an Italian bistro named Terra Nera, located just seconds from the apartment. Meanwhile, Emily’s beloved local bakery La Boulagerie Moderne is also just a stone’s throw away at 16 rue des Fosses Saint-Jacques. (Want to discover more Emily in Paris filming locations? Inside the third-floor apartment now for sale, period details (think soaring ceilings, decorative fireplaces, cast iron radiators, exposed stone walls, parquet floors and classic French windows) are paired with a more modern and minimalist design. From the entrance, the home opens up into a double reception room with windows that overlook the same square where Emily celebrates her birthday in season two.

The modern kitchen, complete with a breakfast bar and dining nook, sits in one corner of the home, while the three bedrooms complete the space. Located in the other corner of the apartment, the primary suite boasts a dressing room and an ensuite bathroom with a soaking tub, a sleek black shower, and a double-sink vanity. And if more living space is desired, a neighboring studio apartment is also available, with potential for the two units to be combined into one.

On the market for €3.5 million (£3 million). Find out more at forbesglobalproperties.com
