Will There Be An Emily In Paris Season 5?

No news from Netflix just yet on whether there will be a fifth season of Emily in Paris – but we think it is pretty likely. The streaming giant usually holds off on announcing a new season of its original series until around a month after the last season launched – or just as the hype is starting to die down. That said, Emily in Paris seasons 3 and 4 were announced at the same time: in January 2022, just a couple of weeks after the whopping success of season 2.

Could this double renewal spell the end of the series? Not necessarily. ‘I definitely think the show has a life beyond next season,’ series creator Darren Star told Deadline. ‘[Season 4 is] not necessarily conceived as a final chapter. I think, like every other show, it’s a rich ensemble. There’s no end in sight until everybody feels like it’s time to end. And I don’t think this show is limited by a number of seasons, I think it’s limited by everybody’s enthusiasm and excitement about doing it and telling stories about these characters.’

In this light, Emily in Paris season 5 seems quite likely. Emily in Paris is one of Netflix’s most successful original series: season 1 was the streamer’s most viewed comedy of 2020, while the success of season 2 led to the quick back-to-back renewal of seasons 3 and 4. Amid the Paris 2024 Olympics, Emily in Paris fever has persisted: the streamer invested in an Olympic advert in the US, while an NYC pop-up, Cafe de Lillet, has attracted thousands of fans looking to live it up like Emily.

Emily In Paris Season 4 Part 2 Release Date

If you’re wondering why season 4 only has five episodes instead of the usual 10, it’s because Emily in Paris is the latest victim of Netflix’s two-part release system. Part 2, with five more episodes, will arrive on 12 September 2024.

What Is Emily In Paris About?

Emily in Paris follows the titular character Emily Cooper (Lily Collins), a social media marketing genius who relocates from Chicago to Paris to work for her company’s sister agency, Savoir. There, she encounters comedic trials and tribulations spanning every part of her life, from friendships to work, love life to language barriers.

As the series progresses, we increasingly delve into the lives of the people around Emily, learning more about her tough yet incredibly chic boss Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu), her aspiring singer friend Mindy (Ashley Park), her attractive downstairs neighbour Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and her chic friend Camille (Camille Razat) – all backdropped by beautiful Paris.

Is Emily In Paris Season 4 The End?

This is still to be seen, and depends on what happens in part two of season 3, which is coming in September 2024. So far, every season of Emily in Paris has ended with a cliffhanger. If part 2 ties everything together neatly, it could spell bad news for the future of the series, despite what Star says.
