Isabel Dempsey is Country & Townhouse's digital assistant overseeing the interiors and properties sections of the site, as well as our competitions. She has written for a wide range of publications, including The Independent, The Telegraph, House & Home (Ireland), The Bookseller, the Museums Journal, and her local paper EssexLive, plus she has also interned at The Times. When she’s not writing about houses and homes, she loves writing about threats to creativity, women’s issues, lifestyle, fashion, culture and the environment. She recently received a distinction in her Magazine Journalism (MA) at City, University of London where her final project was a long read on the rise of anti-surrogacy campaigners. During the course she was also deputy features editor for thesplitmag.com and pitched a sustainable fashion magazine praised as ‘genius’ by British Vogue Editorial Director Chioma Nnadi. She previously read English at the University of Cambridge where she was Editor-in-Chief of the student paper Varsity.
