Its restaurant, led by Executive Chef Guy Owen, is defined by a commitment to seasonality and sustainability, championing Cornwall’s exceptional produce through confident, elegant sea‑to‑table dining.

the bull inn

The Bull Inn, Totnes

Nestled at the top of Totnes High Street, overlooking Rotherfold Square, The Bull Inn is a radically ethical organic pub with rooms, open seven days a week, 8am until late. Run on a people-and-planet-first ethos, guided by a manifesto of ‘No-Bull Rules’ (the operational specifics) and the Conscious Compromise (the philosophy behind them): weighing up the facts to hand and doing right by people and planet, one conscious decision at a time.

That shows up on the plate: organic beer and wine, simple seasonal veg-led food (grown, not flown), day-boat fish and mindful meat, changing daily. Think pork chop with tropea onions and green sauce, or John Dory with confit tomato, chorizo, potato, saffron and aioli.

The nine rooms are sustainably designed with lime-plastered walls, reclaimed furniture, reworked vintage fabrics, handmade tiles, organic mattresses and linens, and artisan lighting. Unsurprising, given owner Geetie Singh-Watson opened the world’s first officially organic pub, The Duke of Cambridge, back in 1998.

Families can stay across the road at The Albatross, a four-bedroom self-catering apartment with a private terrace. In late 2025, the team behind the Bull Inn opened Albatross Pizza Shop opposite the pub, serving weekly-changing seasonal sourdough pizzas.

Lalique

Lalique

Before revolutionising the art of glass, RenĂ© Lalique invented modern jewellery with forms inspired by nature and innovative blends of materials. Worn by the most stylish women of his time, his audacious designs were widely celebrated by the era’s aesthetes, including the poets Jean Lorrain and Robert de Montesquiou. And it was Lalique‘s illustration for the cover of Montesquiou’s book Les Paons (or The Peacock) that inspired Plume Blanche – a white floral musk that transforms the sinuous elegance of a white peacock’s train into scent.

Verdant violet leaf, zesty cardamom, sparkling mandarin and vibrant pink pepper add a pop of colour to this iridescent accord in the top notes. Meanwhile benzoin resin introduces golden ivory tones, through its cinnamon and vanilla facets. Lastly, an ebony backdrop of smooth tonka bean and patchouli makes this opalescent palette even more radiant.
