A London address like no other

Whether it’s complete with a bowling alley, a particularly fabulous gym, or spectacular city views, there’s nothing like a brand new luxury development in London. A particularly exciting launch, however, is Marylebone Square, a mixed-used address encompassing gorgeous apartments, community areas and retail spaces (not to mention a breathtaking central courtyard). Martha Davies pays a visit.

Inside Marylebone Square, Central London’s Latest (And Only) New-Build

There might be an irresistible buzz to Marylebone Village, but step inside Marylebone Square and you’ll feel utterly serene. Thanks to enviable open plan layouts, floor-to-ceiling windows, and glass doors opening onto handsome balconies, each of the 54 apartments in the development is spacious and brimming with light. But perhaps the most tranquil – and certainly the most breathtaking – aspect is the inner atrium garden, which plays host to ferns, silver birch trees and an elliptical lily pond. Crowned by a glass-top roof, it’s the kind of garden that you might not expect from a gleaming London mansion block, but it’s what makes the entire development so unique.

After all, Marylebone Square doesn’t look like a typical London mansion block. It doesn’t look like the red-brick Georgian buildings you would typically associate with Marylebone, either; instead, the development boasts an utterly elegant glazed terracotta façade punctuated by curved aluminium balustrades guarding each of the balconies. Designed by the renowned architectural firm E8 Architecture, it’s at once subtly contemporary and wonderfully timeless – though you can expect plenty of dazzling modern features inside, from a touchless entry system to lifts that you can control from your phone.

Plus, since the apartments are arranged around the magnificent inner courtyard, there are no dingy corridors in sight at Marylebone Square, just a clever network of breezeways which look out onto the leafy oasis below. Step into any of the homes and you’ll be stunned by just how bright and welcoming they feel, all flanked by towering windows and boasting seriously luxurious finishes (expect Salvatori marble walls and bespoke walnut vanity units in the bathrooms). It might not shout about it, but this is everything you could want from a high-end London address.

There is, however, even more to come: led by developer Concord London, Marylebone Square will encompass brand new retail spaces and restaurants, dedicated community areas, and a section of affordable homes for key workers. It’s a new chapter in Marylebone’s illustrious history – and a very exciting one indeed.
