This might be the most glamorous property in Nice...

It’s no secret that the French Riviera is a celebrity hotspot; in fact, Sean Connery’s former home there has just hit the market. Here’s the rundown.

While former James Bond star Roger Moore might have loved his lavish London apartment, Sean Connery’s favoured pied-à-terre is a French gem. Standing proudly in Mont Boron, boasting views across the Port of Nice towards Cap d’Antibes, the spectacular five-bedroom villa has just been listed for no less than €23.5 million.

The Art Deco property bears the name of Villa Roc Fleuri, though it’s known locally as the Bond Villa; Sean Connery himself lived there with his wife Micheline Roquebrune during the ‘70s and ‘80s.

The handsome home was, in fact, built in 1930, and many of its architectural details have been preserved: think mosaic inlays, intricate wooden panelling, wrought iron staircases, and even an original elevator cabin. Of course, you’ll spot plenty of modern luxuries, too – most notably, the dazzling wellness area, which encompasses a heated infinity pool and a gym.

Inside the villa, meanwhile, there’s a breathtaking reception room, a kitchen with a wine cellar, and a dining room surrounded by expansive terraces. The principal suite occupies the entire top floor – boasting elegant walk-in wardrobes and two ensuite bathrooms – while three further guest suites and an additional bedroom are arranged across the lower levels. You’ll find a self-contained apartment and an entire guesthouse nestled in the grounds, too.

While it all sounds more than fitting for a film star, there’s more to explore: the landscaped gardens lead right down to the shoreline, and the main house is crowned by an enviable roof terrace (complete with its own outdoor kitchen) which commands some particularly gorgeous sea views.

‘Villa Roc Fleuri is truly special,’ says Chuck McKee of Savills France. ‘It’s an opportunity to purchase what must be Nice’s most desirable home, just above the water’s edge on a prime, historic hillside location.’
