Will There Be A Third Series Of A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder?

Series 2 is streaming now

Adults and teens alike fell in love with Pip Fitz-Amobi (Emma Myers) when A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder made its screen debut back in the summer of 2024. Before that, it was a novel by Holly Jackson – her debut, published in 2019.

The series centres on Pip’s EPQ, an A-level adjacent, self-guided qualification that usually delves into something around your chosen subject, like geography or biology. But, following the death of a local school girl five years prior, Pip goes a bit off-piste, launching her own investigation into the mysterious case. As co-star Henry Ashton, who plays Max, puts it: ‘It’s full of twists and turns and keeps you on edge the whole way through. If you like true crime, then you’ll love it!’

Last week, the much-awaited second season landed on BBC iPlayer and Netflix worldwide, returning us to Little Kilton, where Pip has a new mystery – and a new mode – on her hands. When another teenager goes missing on the very same night a memorial is held commemorating the sixth anniversary of the deaths of Andie and her boyfriend Sal, Pip switches from writing to speaking, launching a podcast to investigate the case.

Like series 1, it’s based on a book by Jackson – this time Good Girl, Bad Blood (2020). But what does the future have in store for A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder? Here’s what we know.

A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder Series 3: Will It Happen?

While there is no official news from Netflix or the BBC just yet, we think a third series of A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder is firmly on the cards. This is because Jackson’s novels are a trilogy, the first being A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder, the second being Good Girl, Bad Blood, and the third being As Good as Dead, published in 2021.

After the huge success of series 1, it made perfect sense that the BBC and Netflix would once again team up to bring Pip and Little Kilton back to the small screen. In the UK, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder was available to watch for free on the BBC, where it became one of iPlayer’s most watched titles among 16 to 24 year olds. Over in the US it was on Netflix, where it topped the TV charts. With season 2 available to stream for just over a week now, we imagine the powers above will be assessing the numbers before season 3 is officially given the greenlight.

What Will Happen?

Because the series is based on a trilogy of novels, we already know what series 3 of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder will entail…

When As Good As Dead opens, the now 18-year-old Pip is about to head off to university (Cambridge, in fact). But after her true crime podcast went viral, she can’t shake some of the nasty comments out of her mind. One sticks out in particular: an anonymous person who keeps asking, ‘Who will look for you when you’re the one who disappears?’

As the threats escalate, Pip realises she is being followed in real life. And as she notices connections between her stalker and a local serial killer caught six years ago, she begins to wonder if the right man is behind bars.

A deadly cat and mouse game ensues, with Pip realising a haunting truth: she must find the suspect herself, or become the next victim.

Connor Reynolds (JUDE MORGAN-COLLIE), Lauren (YALI TOPOL MARGALITH), Cara Ward (ASHA BANKS), director Dolly Wells, Pip Fitz-Amobi (EMMA MYERS) & Zach Chen (RAIKO GAHARA) behidn the scenes on A Good Girl's Guide To Murder.

The Cast

If A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder gets the greenlight, we expect Emma Myers to return to her leading role as Pip. Despite playing an inquisitive English girl from a small, rural town, Myers is actually American, best known for her role as teenage werewolf Enid Sinclair in the Netflix series Wednesday (2022–present).

We also expect Zain Iqbal to join her as her boyfriend Ravi Singh, along with Henry Ashton as Max Hastings, Jude Morgan-Collie as Connor Reynolds, Asha Banks as Cara Ward, and Yali Topol Margalith as Lauren Gibson.

On team parents, we expect Anna Maxwell Martin to return as Pip’s mum Leanne, and Gary Beadle to return as her dad, Victor.

Release Date

If A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder gets the greenlight, the release date will depend on Myers’ scheduling with fellow Netflix project, Wednesday, which is currently shooting in Europe and slated for a summer 2027 release.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series 1 launched in summer 2024, followed by series 2 in spring 2026. The most likely release date is the first half of 2028.

All episodes of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder are available to stream on BBC iPlayer in the UK and Netflix worldwide.
