Inside the country's A-list wedding venues

This weekend, billionaire heiress Eve Jobs and Olympian Harry Charles are heading to the Cotswolds (where else?) to tie the knot in one of the UK’s most exclusive hotels, Estelle Manor. This got us thinking: which other British venues have hosted celebrity weddings over the years?

Of course, often A-listers choose to fly to glamorous destinations around the world for their nuptials, whether that’s the Tuscan city of Siena a la Millie Bobby Brown or the French Riviera’s Antibes like Sofia Richie. But the UK has seen its fair share of star-studded weddings in recent years too – and it’s hard not to be curious about where famous faces choose to have their big day. So we’ve done some digging to find out the UK’s top celebrity wedding venues, from grand castles in York to members’ clubs in Somerset.

5 British Celebrity Wedding Venues

Castle Howard, York

The historic Castle Howard has featured on screen numerous times, appearing in the iconic film Brideshead Revisited as well as in ITV’s Victoria. But in 2019, the venue entered the spotlight for a different reason: it hosted the wedding of singer Ellie Goulding and art dealer Casper Jopling. The guestlist included royalty, with Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie and their mother Sarah, Duchess of York all in attendance. Katy Perry and her then-boyfriend Orlando Bloom, Sienna Miller, and James Blunt were all there too. Goulding and Jopling said their vows in York Minster before heading to the castle, with Goulding wearing a custom-made Chloé gown. The reception was kept under wraps, but no doubt it was a dazzling affair: with its towering spires, sparkling lakes and sweeping lawns, Castle Howard is like something out of a fairytale. Sadly, though, the magic was short-lived, as Goulding and Jopling divorced in 2024.

Estelle Manor, the Cotswolds

The Cotswolds is having a moment right now, with everyone from Taylor Swift to the Beckhams and Ellen DeGeneres visiting its honey-stoned towns. So it’s no surprise Jobs (daughter of the late Apple founder) has chosen to wed there – following in the footsteps of the old Cotswolds set, Kate Moss and Liz Hurley. Of course Jobs chose Oxfordshire’s modern it-venue for her day, members’ club and hotel Estelle Manor.

With its grand Jacobean house, outdoor pool, Roman-inspired spa and expansive grounds, it’s a fitting venue for a wedding that’s rumoured to cost £5m. There are whispers of an elite guestlist too, with former Vice President Kamala Harris, Jennifer Gates, daughter of Microsoft founder Bill Gates, and Bruce Springsteen’s daughter Jessica all thought to be attending. As for entertainment, Sir Elton John is gearing up to perform, according to The Sun.

Blenheim Palace

Blenheim Palace, Oxford

Another of the UK’s grandest country houses is Blenheim Palace, which is no stranger to ultra-luxe weddings either, boasting 2,000 acres of parkland beside its 18th century baroque centrepiece. Its romantic seeds were sown many years back, when Winston Churchill – who was born at the palace – proposed to wife Clementine at the Temple of Diana, a structure within the gardens.

More recently, in 2012 The Saturdays’ singer Rochelle Humes and JLS star Marvin Humes said ‘I do’ in front of 250 of their friends and family at the picturesque Orangery within the Oxfordshire palace, Rochelle donning a Vera Wang silk gown. Former bandmates Mollie King, Una Healey, Vanessa White and Frankie Bridge were her bridesmaids, and numerous other fellow musicians attended including Harry Styles, Olly Murs and Pixie Lott – some of whom did a surprise performance of the couple’s favourite songs. A marquee was erected in the parkland for the event, which transformed into a nightclub for the evening’s festivities. The Humes’ aren’t the only celebrity couple to wed there either: footballer John Terry married Toni Poole at Blenheim Palace in 2007, as did Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin in 1988.

Old Marylebone Town Hall, London

For many years, Old Marylebone Town Hall was the go-to spot for celebrities planning a chic London wedding. Sir Paul McCartney was a particularly big fan, marrying his first wife Linda there in 1969, then using the same place for his third wedding to Nancy Shevell in 2011. Oasis singer Liam Gallagher did the same, tying the knot to Patsy Kensit there in 2011 (the pair married at 8.30am to avoid any paparazzi intrusions, but sadly brother Noel didn’t get up in time), then singer Nicole Appleton in 2001.

The hall also staged weddings for the Beatles’ Ringo Starr and model Barbara Bach, actors Sean Bean and Georgina Sutcliffe, and singer Cilla Black and Bobby Willis. We haven’t seen a high-profile wedding there in a while though, despite its recent £60 million revamp, which retained the venue’s historic character with added modern twists – think walnut panelled walls and plaster ceilings alongside Scandi-inspired furnishings.

Babington House

Babington House

Babington House, Somerset

Somerset’s private members’ club Babington House was the second branch of Soho House to open back in 1998, quickly becoming a hotspot for the rich and famous. Jude Law was a regular, Madonna apparently stayed there on multiple occasions, and before long the celebrity nuptials began. DJ Fatboy Slim married presenter Zoe Ball there in 1999, and The Day of the Jackal‘s Eddie Redmayne and Hannah Bagshawe chose it for their candlelit winter ceremony at the club in 2014.

It was also the venue for James Corden’s wedding to Julia Carey: the couple tied the knot surrounded by friends including Jimmy Carr, Michael McIntyre and David Walliams, with performances from Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles and Rizzle Kicks. It was a star-studded affair, too, for Made In Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh, who walked down the aisle to Professor Green within Babington House’s idyllic surrounds, wearing a vintage lace Alice Temperley dress. The Georgian house accommodates up to 120 guests, and there are a number of places where you can host the ceremony including the Chapel, the Library or the croquet lawn – each boasting their own unique English charm.
