Nature | Connected runs 6–29 June

London Climate Action Week returns from 21 to 29 June 2025. But first, a unique new exhibition exploring the connection between nature and humanity will open in King’s Cross. Here’s everything you need to know about Nature | Connected.

Nature | Connected In King’s Cross: What To Expect

As the climate crisis burns on, it’s easy to feel like humanity exists in opposition to nature. We burn our planet’s ancient rock sediments for fuel, kill animals to eat, chop down trees to print our news. But humanity is inextricably linked to the planet: trees produce the oxygen we breathe, and we in turn produce the carbon dioxide trees need to respire. Movements like forest bathing and nature immersion strive to rekindle the ancient bond humans have with the land – and a new exhibition in King’s Cross, opening next week, will strive to do the same.

What Is Nature | Connected?

Nature | Connected is an upcoming immersive exhibition created by the award-winning light and sound artist Natural Symphony. The free-to-visit installation is a sensory experience, inviting visitors to interact with living plants, which are interwoven with handmade biofeedback devices that detect the bio-rhythms in plants and trees. This combined with creative coding transforms touch into real-time visual effects and electronic music. Add a host of screens streaming vivid, biodiverse worlds, and the result will be a mesmerising symphony of sounds and sights, with the hopes of inspiring visitors to take action to protect the environment.

The installation forms part of King’s Cross’ three-month Super Nature initiative, prompting Londoners and visitors alike to interact with nature and the planet via circular fashion, vegan dining and more events exploring sustainability, community and wellbeing. It also marks the beginning of Earthfest, a four-day sustainability festival in King’s Cross (5-8 June). Curated by Natural Symphony – the stage name for London-based artist Joey Dean – Nature | Connected is the first in a five-part series titled Human | Nature, which the artist describes as ‘[highlighting] the often-overlooked connection between humans and nature’.

‘Even in an age dominated by machines, nature’s pulse can still shape our world,’ Dean says. ‘By immersing yourself in this experience, you will not only witness the harmony between nature and humanity but also feel a profound connection to the environment. I hope this experience inspires visitors to appreciate the beauty of nature and find a way to reconnect to it.’

‘In a time when digital technology frequently distances us from reality, this groundbreaking exhibition provides a unique opportunity to reconnect with nature and experience its incredible healing power,’ adds Chrissy Cullen on behalf of King’s Cross. ‘I encourage everyone to come and enjoy this extraordinary blend of digital art and nature and take a moment to reflect on how we can all protect our planet.’
