Get ready for even more of Amanda, Clive and the kids on More4

Last autumn, we were thrilled to see the Yorkshire Shepherdess return to our screens with her bustling family in tow. Our Farm Next Door series 1 traced the trials and tribulations of renovating a dilapidated farm house known as Anty John’s, you guessed it, next door to the Owen family farm. And come April, a second series launched, detailing the transformation of Anty John’s exterior to a completed stone farmhouse.

Hot off the press: the story is not over. Channel 4 has renewed Our Farm Next Door for two more series, which are in the works right now and set to air on More4 in the months to come. Here’s everything we know so far.

Our Farm Next Door Renewed For 2 More Series: All The Details

When Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids was first announced in September 2024, it was a bumper package: More4 commissioned 10 episodes split across two series. The first series launched in October, and introduced us to Anty Johns Farm, a derelict property next door to the Owens’ farm, which they purchased to plan for the family’s future. There are nine Owen children, after all.

The came Our Farm Next Door series 2 in April, which picked up the Anty Johns renovation, which was still unfinished when we left the Owens in October. Despite Clive recently having a hip replacement, both he and Amanda got their hands dirty, mucking in to reconstruct the derelict property with the help of some local tradespeople. That said, Clive will be slowing down a bit.

By the end of the series, Anty John’s was pretty much complete – the exterior, that is. The third and fourth series, now filming, will be all about the bits and pieces that need to be put together inside the property, from designing the interiors to installing plumbing and running water to transform the centuries-old derelict farmhouse into a modern home. We’re also told Amanda will be delving into the history of the farmhouse, which was once occupied by local celebrity Anthony Clarkson, known for making maps of Swaledale.

Amanda tells Channel 4 she is ‘beyond delighted’ to return for two more series of Our Farm Next Door, specifically ‘that we have been given the opportunity to showcase this unique and beautiful part of our British countryside and for people to join us on our exciting journey through the restoration of our farm next door’.

‘We’re grateful for Channel 4’s support and the effort and utter dedication of the film crew who have had to work in challenging weather conditions, coupled with the unimaginable chaos of both children and animals,’ Amanda adds. ‘This is a programme that I am seriously proud of.’

According to the series’ Leeds-based production company Wise Owl, Our Farm Next Door is More4’s highest rated series of 2024 so far, prompting the broadcaster to re-run the series on Channel 4 in July. Producer James Knight sharing how ‘watching the 11-strong Owen family pulling together to transform this wonderful old barn has been an incredible ride so far’ and how Wise Owl are ‘so thrilled we’ll be there to cover the next chapter’.

‘As work begins inside to turn its four walls into a home, Amanda will be digging deeper into Anty John’s eye-opening back story, and we’re looking forward to spending more glorious days at both Ravenseat and Anty John’s,’ Knight says.

First rising to fame alongside husband Clive on The Dales, Amanda and family are best known for their 2018 series Our Yorkshire Farm which aired on Channel 5 until 2022. Then in 2024 Channel 4 revealed it was bringing the Owens back to our screens with Our Farm Next Door.

Elsewhere, Amanda is well known for her Twitter presence, which is where she created her ‘Yorkshire Shepherdess’ alias, which in turn led to her 2015 non-fiction title of the same name. She has since penned five books inviting readers into her world of farming. And this Christmas, Amanda is turning to fiction with her first children’s book, Christmas Tales From The Farm (out 11 September).

‘Following the Owen family’s incredible work to renovate Anty John’s has been such a joy and I’m over the moon we’re able to continue the journey with two more series for More4,’ says Channel 4’s commissioning editor Jayne Stanger. ‘I can’t wait to see how the amazing transformation of the farmhouse continues as well as enjoying the magnificent Yorkshire scenery we’re treated to in every episode.’
