Here’s everything we know so far
Eddie Horniman is venturing even deeper into the jungle. That’s right: Theo James and Guy Ritchie are bringing The Gentlemen back to Netflix for a third season. Here’s everything we know so far.
The Gentlemen Season 3: Plot, Cast, Release Date & More
The Gentlemen was an instant hit when it premiered back in 2024, so it made sense that it was renewed for season 2 just a few months later. With season 2 finally streaming now after more than a two year wait, we are hoping the latest season 3 news means we won’t be waiting quite so long for Eddie’s return the next time around. But don’t hold your breath: when Variety broke the news, it came with the caveat that The Gentlemen season 3 was firmly in pre-production territory, meaning scripts had not been finalised, nor had casting commenced.
Netflix renewed Guy Ritchie’s hit aristocrats-turned-gangsters drama at the end of August – about a week before season 2 aired. The news also came with rumours galore about a certain royal making an appearance…

What Will Happen?
No news just yet on the plot of The Gentlemen season 3, but in the same way that season 2 upped the ante from season 1, we are expecting something even bigger and (dare we say it) even better. As the show’s creator, director and general mastermind Ritchie put it on the announcement: ‘The ambition of The Gentlemen has accelerated, the world has expanded, and the consequences carry weight. A third season felt inevitable, and I’m looking forward to pushing the boundaries of it further.’ It is expected that Ritchie will again direct and write the series, along with co-writer Matthew Read.
After that blood-soaked season finale, there are plenty of routes season 3 could go down. We know we will probably keep our attention on Eddie, Duke of Halstead (James) and his literal partner in crime Susie Glass (Kaya Scodelario) as they continue to expand the reach of their criminal empire. Meanwhile after Freddy’s (Daniel Ings) season 2 antics, there is surely punishment to be paid.
There could be an even deeper focus on the Horniman family as their motivations float to the surface. A fringe example is Geoff (Vinnie Jones), Eddie’s loyal gamekeeper. ‘For me, there are still some unknown elements to Geoff,’ Jones says. ‘What is his debt of loyalty to this family? What, for example, did the old man, Eddie’s dad, do for him that has kept him so close and so loyal all these years? And, whatever it was, that loyalty has now transferred to Eddie to the extent that I sometimes think that while Lady Sabrina is very important to him, it’s the relationship between Geoff and Eddie that really matters the most. I think all those things could be developed.’
Then there’s Susie and her father Bobby Glass (Ray Winstone), who are certain to return and continue to lead Eddie down his path into the jungle. But will Bobby be freed from prison and let loose on the world beyond his sauna? ‘Absolutely not,’ Winstone says. ‘No way, he’s very happy exactly where he is. Leave him alone!’

Who Will Star?
Well, there will be some notable absences once season 2’s death toll is tallied up, but we know Theo James will return as Eddie, Kaya Scodelario as Susie and Ray Winstone as Bobby.
The Horniman family will surely return, too: Joely Richardson as matriarch Lady Sabrina, Daniel Ings as Eddie’s disinherited older brother Freddy and Jasmin Blackborow as his sister Charly. We also expect Harry Goodwins to return as Jack Glass, along with Vinnie Jones as gamekeeper Geoff.
Plenty of new stars joined The Gentlemen for season 2 – not least Hugh Bonneville, Maya Jama and our band of Italians – and it is possible they will be back for season 3, too. There will surely be new castings for season 3, to boot – though it seems those Meghan Markle rumours were poppycock.
‘I don’t even know the practicalities of how one would make that happen,’ James told Digital Spy when asked about the American princess’s role in the upcoming season. When asked who he would actually like to see in season 3, one vibe topped James’ wishlist: ‘someone psychopathic, like old school Robert Carlyle.’
In August, rumours of Markle’s involvement in The Gentlemen season 3 hit the headlines, before the show had even been greenlit. It is believed that the Duchess of Sussex – who is set to move back to the UK with husband Prince Harry imminently – met Ritchie through mutual friends and, regardless, seems to be hunting for her next acting gig after an eight-year hiatus.

Release Date
With a renewal in August 2026, a 2027 premiere might be optimistic. But we remain utterly hopeful. Otherwise, see you in 2028.
Like the first two, The Gentlemen season 3 will be made up of eight episodes.
Where To Watch
The first two seasons of The Gentlemen are streaming now on Netflix.
