Heritage meets horsepower as Glenfiddich launches landmark partnership with Aston Martin

Monterey Car Week 2025 is always a mix of horsepower and heritage, but this year there was something new on the drinks menu, a limited-edition single malt Scotch whisky, hand-selected by Malt Master Brian Kinsman. And it all came together in one celebration marking Aston Martin’s 75th anniversary in the Americas, with a line-up of spectacular sports cars and the announcement of a global partnership with Glenfiddich, the world’s most awarded single malt Scotch.
Glenfiddich Launches 16-Year Whisky With Aston Martin
The F1 season might be on its summer break, but things are still busy for Aston Martin. Hot on the heels of hosting the Aston Martin Prince of Wales’s Championship Cup, where guests received Elemis sets from another of the marque’s lifestyle partners, Aston Martin went straight into Car Week with celebrations in full swing and a glass of Glenfiddich in hand.
The collaboration officially launched at The House of Aston Martin in Pebble Beach, where guests toasted the milestone with a very special dram. Glenfiddich’s Malt Master Brian Kinsman has hand-selected a 1976 vintage single malt, aged for 48 years with a finishing period in a European oak sherry cask, with only 50 bottles in existence. Brian says of the expression, ‘This exceptional cask was not selected for its vintage year alone, but for the era it represents; the transformative mid-1970s, a defining period that marked the beginning of Glenfiddich’s modern era and helped shape the whisky’s character for generations to come.’
On heritage he continues, ‘Nearly 50 years later, we continue to honour that legacy, staying true to the spirit of innovation and craftsmanship that helped make Glenfiddich the renowned Single Malt it is today – qualities that perfectly embody our new partnership with Aston Martin.’
On the nose, the whisky offers a sweetness thanks to the red berries alongside buttery pastry, spice and a hint of sherbet lemon. While on the palate, there are layers of dry oak tannin, stewed fruits and toasted wood that leads to a long finish of sweet, oaky spiciness.
For Glenfiddich’s Global Brand Director Claudia Falcone, the partnership between whisky and cars felt natural, extending their collaboration with Aston Martin beyond F1 and into high-performance luxury vehicles; she says, ‘To honour this shared spirit of transformation, Glenfiddich is introducing a curated pop-up whisky tasting experience at The House of Aston Martin at Monterey Car Week, where Valhalla, Aston Martin’s first plug-in hybrid supercar, will take centre stage. Valhalla embodies the same rarity, precision, and future-facing vision as the Glenfiddich 1976 Vintage. Together, they tell one story: two brands united by heritage and driven by innovation.’
Aston Martin used Monterey to celebrate both the new partnership and its 75th anniversary in the Americas, with activations that included the global debut of the Thrillseeker Collection, a trio of convertible sports cars inspired by the shifting hues of Carmel Bay, each one finished in a unique blue tone and already sold out. Alongside them, the much-anticipated production version of Valhalla made its first public appearance, on this, Jolyon Nash, Aston Martin’s Chief Commercial Officer, said, ‘Monterey Car Week is the perfect backdrop to celebrate Aston Martin’s 75th anniversary in the Americas… this week exemplifies our commitment to craftsmanship, performance, and prestige, which will be on full display for the world’s most influential automotive enthusiasts and collectors.’
The House of Aston Martin became a clubhouse for both car lovers and whisky aficionados during the week, offering drive opportunities, whisky tastings, and celebrations that expertly blended, as you’d expect, the best of British engineering and Scottish distilling.
The Glenfiddich 1976 (ABV 48.8%) will be available exclusively through The Distillers Library and The Glenfiddich Distillery, with only 50 bottles available worldwide. glenfiddich.com
