Its new delivery service, sketch at home, offers either a four-course meal (with a vegetarian option) or a decadent Sunday roast, featuring a sharing côte de boeuf with all the trimmings. Part of the pull of Golden Square-based Folie is its delicious interiors – but (considering they’re temporarily shut away for lockdown 3.0) luckily its delivery menu is equally sumptuous and exciting. Prepared by executive head chef Christophe Marleix, the on-the-go menu includes Riviera-style dishes like tuna sashimi, octopus, citrus, avocado and herbs, rich Italian classics like aubergine parmigiana and seared cod updated with a twist – hazlenut crust and heritage carrots. Curry night gets an upgrade with Ambassador General Store, which offers restaurant-prepared premium Indian meal boxes from Michelin-starred Gymkhana and Trishna, as well as barbecue restaurant Brigadiers. New Balham-based restaurant The Red Duck is poised to open its doors once the rules allow it, but in the meantime you can try its goods via takeaway. The menu offers a modern take on Chinese cooking, with a focus on well sourced ingredients – it took the team more than five months, for instance, to find its duck supplier as they needed someone who bred with the perfect flesh to fat to skin ratio. Highlights include the Hakka Paneer, which sees the Indian cheese flavoured with a black bean sauce, a melt-in-the-mouth Char Siu Pork dish, and some very moreish fried chicken wings.
