The foodie launches you need to know about

September was a bumper month for London’s restaurant scene. As the summer drew to a close, the capital welcomed a whole host of new foodie big hitters, from the hotly anticipated arrival of New York’s Carbone to Mayfair’s latest glitzy seafood restaurant, Lilbet’s. And October looks equally promising: an exciting food market is primed to open its doors in Chelsea, chef Luke Ahearne is helming the launch of Italian eatery Motorino in Fitzrovia, and the group behind The Bull in Charlbury is adding to its portfolio with another gastropub. Read on to discover the new London restaurants you need on your radar in October 2025.

New London Restaurant Openings: October 2025

Motorino, Fitzrovia

Earlier this year, Stevie Parle opened Town in Covent Garden, which quickly became one of the capital’s most talked about restaurants. But can he do it again? Soon to open its doors in Fitzrovia is Motorino, an Italian eatery spearheaded by restaurateur Luke Ahearne – who helped Marylebone bistro Lita secure its first Michelin star – alongside Parle. In an interview for The Times, the concept was described as a ‘fantastic London restaurant… ingredients first, involved in the produce, simple and elegant and great vibes.’ The space is much larger than Town, but it will have the same vibrant look, this time boasting a yellow palette. No details on dishes yet, but food will apparently be available at an affordable price point.

Brunch dishes at Fink's

Fink’s at Clissold House, Stoke Newington

Mat Appleton and Jess Blackstone’s Fink’s has become one of North London’s most beloved cafes since opening over a decade ago, adding three more branches to its collection over the years. This October, though, the duo are launching their biggest venture to date, taking over the culinary operations at the Grade II listed Clissold House in Stoke Newington. They’ll be operating across three different spaces: The Kiosk will serve grab-and-go coffees and pastries, while The Pink Room and The Dining Room will serve a wider range of dishes for dining in. The opening menu includes a giant rosti with braised cavolo nero and poached eggs, pumpkin tart with stracciatella, and a honey mustard chicken melt – plus an array of the cakes Fink’s has become known for. The interiors have had a jazzy refresh too, with The Pink Room decked out in the brand’s signature hue and The Dining Room painted in shades of green with coral. Accents. Better still, everything comes from small farm producers, including fruits and veggies from SHRUB and Natoora.

The Trafalgar, Chelsea

This October, the King’s Road is welcoming its first brand-new pub in over 100 years: The Trafalgar Public House. It’s the latest addition to the Three Cheers Pub Co roster, which includes South West hotspots like The Latchmere and The Avalon in Clapham. Spread across two floors, the pub will feature characterful interiors, with chandeliers hanging from the ceilings and vintage artworks hanging from the walls. Food will be central to the offering, but we haven’t yet got word of the menu. We do know, though, that The Trafalgar will be all about celebrating Chelsea’s vibrant arts scene, hosting a programme of live music, comedy and cabaret events in its downstairs party space.

Now, she’s turning her attention to London, where she is bringing her culinary finesse to Mayfair hotel The Beaumont. Goodwin-Allen will be at the helm of Rosi, the hotel’s chic new eatery, which will replace The Colony Grill. Guests can enjoy elevated twists on nostalgic classics, like corn-fed chicken diane, John Dory fish fingers and chicken kyiv, alongside premium cuts of steak and theatrical desserts including a flamed seasonal sponge and a build-your-own Rosi sundae.

During the day, it will serve as a one-stop-shop for picking up fresh produce, complete with a fishmonger and a butcher. Then, come evening time, the space will transform into a dining destination with two distinct venues. ASA Izakaya will serve hand-rolled sushi, nigiri and caviar, alongside an array of sakes, while at Salvador guests can enjoy wood-fired pintxos, from beef tartare to pork presa.

Upon his release, he turned his life around, growing a following on social media for his unique fine dining-style twists on classic Caribbean food. And now, the rising star is preparing to open his first restaurant in Herne Hill, just down the road from where he grew up in Peckham, called 2210 by NattyCanCook. This will showcase his signature fare, like roti and scotch bonnet butter, jerk chicken supreme, and ackee and salt fish spring rolls, alongside a host of new dishes including slow-cooked turkey wing and jackfruit skewers. ‘I’m thrilled to have a permanent home to share my vision of Caribbean gastronomy, and to challenge people’s perceptions and stereotypes of Caribbean cuisine, while also honouring my grandmother who was so important in my journey to being a chef,’ he says.

The Hart, Marylebone

You might know Public House Group for its Cotswolds pub The Bull, which has been visited by a number of high-profile guests since opening in 2023. But the hospitality group is also garnering a cult following here in London, where its countryside-inspired gastropubs are proving a big hit. The Pelican is where the Notting Hill set go for Friday night drinks, and The Hero in Maida Hale has become one of West London’s most popular destinations for a roast. For its next venture, the founding trio – friends Phil Winser, James Gummer and Olivier van Themsche – have gone central, opening The Hart in Marylebone this October.
