The hottest foodie newbies for autumn

The evenings are getting darker and Starbucks has announced the return of its Pumpkin Spice Latte, which means one thing: autumn is officially on its way. It’s always sad saying goodbye to summer, but it’s not all doom and gloom. September is a bumper month for new restaurant openings in London, with a long list of exciting eateries primed to open their doors over the next few weeks. From the hotly anticipated arrival of cult New York favourite Carbone to a revival of long-standing favourite Richoux and a burger joint from a Michelin-starred chef, here are the launches to have on your radar.

New London Restaurant Openings: September 2025

Lilibet's restaurant

Lilibet’s, Mayfair

A suitably glamorous seafood restaurant is opening on the site of the birthplace of the late Queen Elizabeth II, 17 Bruton Street in Mayfair. Spearheaded by ex-Nobu chef Ross Shonhan, Lilibet’s – the family nickname of the former monarch – will draw on its royal history, featuring opulent interiors and a Mediterranean menu. Think seafood platters, lobster tails over spaghetti, whole turbot pil pil and a ‘princess cake’ for dessert, made with genoise sponge. A cocktail bar will focus on martinis, while an outdoor terrace will provide an all-weather al fresco dining space.

This will spotlight lesser known dishes from Chinese culture, including a signature claypot rice dish and wind-dried meats, made using a special recipe developed by Poon’s grandfather.
