Restaurant Review: Weezie’s, Belgravia

From the return of Rivals, the expansion of the Yellowstone series, and of course the Year of the Fire Horse, 2026 has seen an equine explosion and we’re in full support of it. While Belgravia’s own equine heritage is more cavalry than cowboys, Weezie’s is a new little spot tucked into Eccleston Yards – with a killer courtyard that’s perfect for al fresco dining – that’s injecting the neighbourhood with a healthy dose of cowboycore.

Abbie and Will Sandbach are the owners and operators of the popular wine brand amie, a venture the couple launched during lockdown, and amie Wine Studio, their wine bar which is also located in the Yard. A favourite of the after-work crowd, the bar has turned into a real community hub bringing locals together through curated events with independent artists. When thinking about their expansion plans, Roden says the next stage in their journey was always going to involve a restaurant.

As a Kentucky transplant by way of New York, Roden wanted to create a sister space to their wine bar that celebrated good food, good drinks, and good ‘ol Southern hospitality. The amie team realised that whether they were attending an event or were just popping in for a glass-turned-bottle, guests at the wine studio were looking for opportunities to stay longer and enjoy the rest of their evening without having to hop to another location.

Walking into Weezie’s feels like you’re entering a chic saloon, where nothing, from the mismatched wooden tables to the different sized frames on the wall, follows a strict blueprint, but yet everything just works. Named after Roden’s grandmother Louise (nicknamed Weezie) the restaurant feels familiar and cosy but distinctly camera-ready – so much that you’ve definitely seen its brick-red tiled bar or cowhide furniture on an Instagram grid or two.

Despite being just a few months’ old, there’s a ‘lived in’ atmosphere that’s underpinned by all the personal touches peppered throughout the venue: there’s a framed pair of Weezie’s red-framed glasses on the wall as you enter, photos from the family farm in Kentucky sit proudly in a mounted cabinet, and art by team member Saffron touches every part of the restaurant. Weezie’s operates a walk-ins-only policy (though tables can be booked for groups of eight or more), making it the ideal destination for a casual catch-up or a spot to end the night.

We visit Weezie’s one early weeknight evening and its impressive courtyard is already filled with revellers enjoying drinks and food out in the sunshine. We’re led to our table and introduced to our server Cece, who graces us in pleasant conversation before we bump into Roden herself who’s on her way to an event at amie wine studio next door. It’s this friendly, organic atmosphere that makes Weezie’s already feel like a trusted neighbourhood spot.

Interior of Weezie's

The menu is built for grazing, dipping, and sharing. Start with the Torres crisps, which are piled high with a spicy-salty combo of ham, parmesan, Basque peppers, and cornichons. Get a few of their signature thin-crust pizzas to share – we suggest moreish Mallorcan ‘Sobrasada’ paired with hot honey, charred creamed sweetcorn, and fior di latte mozzarella; the ‘White Hot’ with West London stracciatella, spicy Calabrian chillies, and hot honey; or the ‘Sausage’ with herby fennel sausage, punchy garlic creme fraiche, and lemon zest. You’ll want to get a tasting flight of their five homemade dips to dunk your crusts in too (our favourite was the buttermilk ranch).

Thinking we had no more room for dessert would have a big a mistake, as the one item on the menu, a rich chocolate mousse served with sea salt and olive oil, was an absolute delight. And when it comes to drinks, the orange wine, crafted specifically for Weezie’s, is a must-order. ‘We worked with producers in the south of France to create a fantastic orange wine under the Weezie’s brand. It works so well with our pizzas and has been a huge hit. It’s pale orange in colour with aromas of bitter orange, dried flowers and slightly nutty hints,’ explains Roden. If you’re popping in for a cocktail at the bar, the spicy margarita is also fantastic.

THE FINAL WORD

Kick back into a comfy armchair and live out your Cowboy Carter dreams as you share a slice of crispy, gooey pizza with your nearest and dearest at Weezie’s. Catch some rays out on the terrace until the sun goes down, before popping into the outdoor photobooth to memorialise your wine-filled night.
