The Curriculum
A bespoke future-focused Bassett Baccalaureate curriculum is taught by specialists for the best outcomes, where much-loved traditions meet innovation – a curriculum crammed with creativity, critical thinking, communication and collaboration.
Games & The Arts
Bassett House is an arts-rich school, placing huge importance on the learning of art, drama and music. At Bassett, the teaching of these three subjects by specialist teachers engages children with the arts from the age of three.
Pastoral Care
Bassett House has a homely feel – where parents say their child is more nurtured, known and seen. The school considers it a privilege to educate children with small class sizes and expert staff committed to making learning memorable. Happy children learn. ‘Communication stations’ support pupils who need a boost.
Head Teacher’s Philosophy
We focus on what children can do because we know that achievement comes in all forms. We proudly celebrate our most academically able pupils who go on to year seven at some of London’s most academically selective schools, and we also celebrate those for whom success is richly deserved in many and multiple other ways.
Outstanding Characteristics
Tucked away in a thriving London village, Bassett House boasts state-of-the art technology, a performing arts studio, gym, stage and library. The bespoke early years comprises multi-structure play spaces developed with House of Kin, which clearly say: ‘you matter’. Horse riding is now part of the curriculum for children in year one and up. Children learn not only to ride but biology, animal care and much more through the pioneering partnership with Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre.
