The Curriculum

A broad and balanced curriculum is tailored to the needs, interests and aptitudes of individual pupils. Classes are small as are tutorial groups, reflecting the teachers’ expertise, vitality and enthusiasm.

Sport & The Arts

There are over 100 clubs, societies and activity groups taking place every week, including 26 sports from athletics to water polo. The facilities for sport and outside pursuits are much envied and the school exudes an air of purposefulness and busyness.

Pastoral Care

The Leys is a small, tight-knit community, known as a ‘big, small school’: big enough to offer a huge breadth of opportunity yet small enough that pupils are individually known. Its backbone is the house system where pupils are assured of a caring and supportive environment; their wellbeing is at the heart of what The Leys stands for. It is a happy, inspiring and unique place.

Exit Destinations

Leysians go on to many universities, including many of the highest-ranked universities in the country such as Bath, Durham, Exeter, Imperial College London, Lancaster, Loughborough, Oxford, St Andrews, University College London and Warwick.

Head Teacher’s Philosophy

To view school as not merely a preparation for life, but rather as life itself. We believe our pupils’ school lives should be full of challenges, choices and opportunities for growth and flourishing; for emotional and intellectual enrichment.
