Why We’re Going Crazy for Fringe Fashion

Summer is fast-approaching ā€“ and for the first time since 2019 we have a full selection of events, festivals and celebrations to look forward to. That’s probably why one of the biggest trends to grace the runway this season is fringing, which with its trailing tassels and wild west aesthetic has become the unofficial uniform of cowboys and Coachella-goers alike.

The brands harnessing festival fever include Alberta Ferretti and ChloƩ, which have both opted for woven designs spanning tops, dresses and bags. But where the former has gone down the route of classic tans and neutrals, the latter is keen to bring fringing to life with a rainbow of colour.

Looking for some inspiration? See our edit of fringe fashion below. As always, before you buy, check at home to see if you have something that fits the trends we see on the runway. Re-wearing old clothes is the best way to be sustainable, but if you can’t avoid it then shop consciously at responsible retailers, as well as rental and resale sites.

On the fringe? Not anymore…
