We might be in the middle of a heatwave – but soon, it will be London Fashion Week putting the ‘summer’ in spring/summer. Want to stay in the loop for SS27? Read our guide below for everything you need to know about LFW.

What Is London Fashion Week?
Organised by the British Fashion Council (BFC), London Fashion Week is a large-scale fashion event comprised of catwalk shows, showrooms, presentations and events held throughout London. During its regular months, February and September, it showcases the talents of over 250 designers from Britain and beyond.

When Is It?
London Fashion Week SS27 takes place between Thursday 17 and Monday 21 September 2026.
Where Is It?
All events during London Fashion Week take place in the UK capital, across various locations within the city.
Can Anyone Go?
London Fashion Week celebrations are usually made up of a combination of public and private events – although it’s worth noting that shows are usually invite-only. Although you won’t miss out entirely; designers tend to livestream or upload a video of their show just after its premiere, so you can still watch on the relevant social channels.

What’s New At London Fashion Week?
McQueen Returns To London Fashion Week
It’s been a hot minute since London-born brand returned to the city for Fashion Week, but it was recently confirmed by the British Fashion Council that McQueen would be back on the schedule for SS27. Most recently, the label has had a top slot at Paris Fashion Week, but this season sees the brand return to its city roots.
‘London has always been at the heart of McQueen; there’s a uniquely visceral energy to the city that runs throughout the house’s history and continues to inspire everything we do today,’ said Seán McGirr, who will be presenting his first show in London as the brand’s Creative Director. ‘Returning to London Fashion Week allows us to deeply engage with that spirit and the creative
community that defines both London and this house.’
It’s also been a long time coming for the BFC, reveals CEO Laura Weir. ‘One of my earliest ambitions as CEO of the British Fashion Council has been to see Alexander McQueen return home to London Fashion Week,’ she said. ‘Few have shaped the global fashion landscape with the same force, imagination and cultural impact, and now is the time to welcome the brand back to its London roots. McQueen’s return is a statement of confidence in British creativity at its most fearless and distinctive. We are proud to welcome the house back to the official schedule and look forward to building an ambitious and meaningful partnership across the seasons ahead.’
McQueen will be showcasing its new collection on Sunday 20 September 2026.

Mulberry Returns To London Fashion Week
McQueen isn’t the only big name coming home for SS27; also joining this season’s schedule is Mulberry, which will mark the debut of its first collection by Christopher Kane.
‘London has long been a global platform for creativity and culture, making it the ideal stage to debut the Mulberry by Christopher Kane collection,’ said Mulberry CEO Andrea Baldo. ‘We are delighted to join the London Fashion Week schedule, to mark the next chapter in the Back to the Mulberry Spirit strategy and to confirm our absolute commitment in supporting and championing British talent, creativity, and craftsmanship.’

M&S Makes Its Debut At London Fashion Week
The British high street wouldn’t be what it is without names like Marks & Spencer – and now, the beloved label is making the leap from shopping aisle to runway, with its first ever show at London Fashion Week.
Celebrating 100 years in the fashion industry, the label will be spotlighting its ‘see now, buy now’ collection of womenswear and menswear – which will be available to shop shortly after the show lands in London.
‘London Fashion Week is a global platform for creativity, innovation and cultural influence, showcasing the very best of British fashion to the world. As one of the great icons of the British high street, and a valued patron of the British Fashion Council, M&S has played an important role in the nation’s retail and cultural story for generations,’ said BFC CEO Laura Weir.
‘Its debut shoppable collection at London Fashion Week is a significant moment, demonstrating how heritage, innovation and accessibility can come together to connect exceptional British design with consumers in new and relevant ways. It is a powerful example of how fashion can inspire, engage and reach audiences far beyond the runway.’
M&S will be taking the runway by storm on Friday 18 September 2026.

The SS27 Provisional Schedule
With just a few weeks to go until London Fashion Week SS27, the British Fashion Council has released its provisional schedule for the season. The final schedule will come out closer to LFW, but current highlights include:
Thursday 17 September 2026
A busy kick-off to the SS27 schedule, with catwalk shows from Paul Costelloe, Mithridate and Harris Reed, as well as presentations from Stephen Jones Millinery and Barbour. Thursday will also see digital presentations from DiscoveryLAB designers and creatives Koshik, Dean Lap Chan and Riverpeace.co.
Friday 18 September 2026
Another big day, with over 20 shows and events set to take over the capital. Expect runway presentations from the likes of Nora Aksi, Susan Fang, Annie’s and LFW newcomer Marks & Spencer.
Saturday 19 September 2026
Shows pick up on Saturday with Patrick McDowell, Ahluwalia and TOGA taking daytime slots, followed by evening runways by Richard Quinn and Yuhan Wang.
Sunday 20 September 2026
Shows start to wind down by Sunday, but with some big names to keep the fashion crowds interested. Alongside Simone Rocha, Edeline Lee, Erdem and Emilia Wickstead, this day also marks the return of Mulberry by Christopher Kane and McQueen to the official LFW schedule.
Monday 21 September 2026
The final day of SS27 celebrations in the capital. Fashion insiders will be able to catch runway presentations by Di Petsa and Tolu Coker, while Burberry rounds off the season with a show in the evening.

Fashion Britain
It’s not just London taking the spotlight this season. Announced in late July, the British Fashion Council will be launching a brand new initiative designed to decentralise fashion in the UK and create opportunities for investment and cultural participation beyond the capital. Dubbed ‘Fashion Britain’, the nationwide initiative will bring together cities, cultural institutions, retailers, designers, businesses, educators and local communities to celebrate fashion and creativity throughout the UK.
‘British fashion is one of our greatest cultural exports, yet for too long participation has been concentrated in too few places,’ said Laura Weir, Chief Executive of the British Fashion Council. ‘Fashion Britain represents a fundamental shift in how we think about our role as the British Fashion Council. If we are truly Britain’s fashion council, then our responsibility is to champion creativity wherever it exists, create opportunity, inspire ambition and ensure more people can see themselves in our industry, regardless of where they live.
‘Fashion Britain is about decentralising fashion, not by diminishing London’s global importance, but by recognising that the future of British creativity depends on strengthening the connections between every part of the UK. Just as our leading national cultural institutions belong to the whole country, fashion should be experienced, celebrated and invested in across the whole country too. This is the beginning of that ambition.’
Scheduled to launch this September to coincide with London Fashion Week, Fashion Britain will reach out to six of the UK’s leading cultural cities – London, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Bristol and Edinburgh – to deliver a new programme of live conversations led by designers, industry voices and emerging talent.
But this is just the first step, says the BFC. In the long term, it’s hoped that Fashion Britain will help strengthen local creative economies, inspire and develop the next generation of fashion talent, and create lasting pathways for designers and creatives to build sustainable careers within their own cities (not just London).

New Sustainability Requirements
Following a piloting period in 2025, a new set of sustainability requirements came into full effect in January 2026 – meaning SS27 will be the second season that London Fashion Week will operate under a more eco-conscious structure.
In a bid to accelerate its sustainability efforts across the British fashion industry, the BFC has partnered with Copenhagen Fashion Week to roll out a new Sustainability Requirements framework for London Fashion Week. Starting with the BFC’s NEWGEN cohort, the initiative sets out Minimum Standards (where applicants must provide an answer to 18 statements on key sustainability considerations) by which designers will have to comply to remain on the London Fashion Week schedule.
