Award winning B Corp jeweller Blackacre takes you on an adventure with the launch of its new collection, Origins
While many jewellers have a habit of keeping their wares wrapped in secrecy, there are a select few that do the exact opposite. Blackacre, rapidly emerging as one of London’s best young jewellers, is a prime example. Fresh off the back of recent award wins and a B Corp Certification, this is the brand hot on the lips of those in the know, attracting discerning clientele and celebrities alike. And, having built its reputation on the tenets of provenance, craftsmanship and narrative, Blackacre is now immersing us further into its world. A journey that sees us thrust into the brand’s latest far-flung expedition with Origins, its first fine jewellery collection.
Origins: Blackacre’s Debut Collection Is Here
London is home to a brilliant network of jewellery houses, both old and new – but a name that seems to be everywhere right now is Blackacre. The boutique jeweller has only been on the scene since 2017, but has quickly captured the city’s attention with its bespoke, story-driven creations. This is largely what makes the brand stand out from the crowd: every piece is made to order, one-of-a-kind in nature or more often than not tailored to the story of its wearer.
And more recently, Blackacre added another string to its bow: B Corp certification, a recognition for brands that meet high standards of social and environmental performance. The jeweller works exclusively with recycled precious metals, and bucks the industry trend of keeping things a secret. Instead, Blackacre prefers to bring its collective into the fold by filming its sourcing expeditions across the globe in search of precious stones. Led by Samuel Stirrat, founder and creative director, the most recent expedition takes place in the heart of the Colombian jungle.
The Origins Collection
The Origins collection, launched in October 2025, builds on this flair for adventure, while also marking a milestone moment: its first range outside of the realm of bridal jewellery.
‘Origins has been three years in the making and takes inspiration from the beginnings of our journey,’ says Stirrat. ‘From an early age I have been constantly driven by a fascination with nature and storytelling.’ Having collected pebbles on the beach as a child, Stirrat was fascinated by the way that uniquely shaped stones can accumulate so elegantly within a singular form. This serves as the inspiration behind the collection – best defined by its intricate detail within elegant silhouettes crafted around breathtaking and individual rare gemstones. Each piece is totally unique and tailored to the coloured stones at the core.
The Origins Edit
However true to this small team’s flair for adventure, the aptly named ‘Origins’ also gives a nod to the exotic expeditions across the globe in search of these rare stones. Each feature stone within the collection is traceable to its geographic source and the collection is anchored upon a series of Colombian Emerald designs (more on this in a moment).
Having built its reputation until now solely on the creation of bespoke jewellery, this is the first time that pieces are available to purchase. Created in small numbers and featuring only the finest diamonds or gemstones – this is very much the Blackacre way. At the time of its release the collection features the headline Colombian Emerald creations as well as a series of limited edition designs that include an unheated Paraiba tourmaline from Brazil, an unheated pink sapphire from Sri Lanka and rare yellow Zimmi diamonds.
The Documentary
Stirrat’s goal has always been to create jewellery that not only strikes a personal chord with its wearer, but also a deep desire for the journey of these creations to be savoured.
‘This collection is deeply personal to me; it’s about building a deep appreciation for the stories behind each piece and creating jewellery that reflects the uniqueness of every individual who wears it,’ adds Stirrat. ‘As with many things in life, it is the journey that is often as meaningful and captivating as the ultimate destination.’
With this in mind, the jeweller decided to do something that isn’t usually done in the industry: give its community full behind-the-scenes access to the collection. Blackacre documented the entire creative process in a film (which you can watch above). Captured by Detail Films and led by royal filmmaker Will Warr, the short film captures every stage of the creation of the Origins collection. From Stirrat’s expedition across Colombia in search of world class Emeralds, to the making of individual pieces by craftspeople in Blackacre’s central London atelier, this mesmerising documentary highlights the rich stories behind each piece within the collection.
