The Curriculum
A balanced curriculum combining collaborative work, structured play and practical activities. Classes are small and children benefit from excellent teaching which focuses on helping them become readers and writers, confident in early numeracy and with well-developed social skills.
Sport & The Arts
Tockington sees sport and exercise as vital to a child’s development. The sports facilities on the 28-acre site allow children to try out, and frequently excel in, multiple disciplines. They explore the arts through regular music and drama performances.
Pastoral Care
Tockington is a small school that adheres to traditional family values and strives to allow children to be children for as long as possible. Its mission is to develop a lifelong love of learning in pupils while preparing them with the attitude and aptitude for senior school and beyond. Staff know that happy children learn best and encourage all pupils to focus on their personal best.
Recent Scholarships
100 percent success rate in first-choice senior school entry. Over 66 percent of pupils secure scholarships.
Head Teacher’s Philosophy
Tockington Manor is more than just a school; ‘homely’ is the word most often used to describe us. I believe in taking the time to find out what makes every Tockington child tick and helping them to live out the school motto: ‘making the most of every moment’.
