Fan of the show? Here's how to spend a weekend in Chipping Norton

The Cotswolds has long been known for its honey-stoned cottages and quintessential British charm. But nowadays, this quaint part of the countryside has become famous around the world for its association with beloved Prime Video show Clarkson’s Farm. Set in Chipping Norton, the series follows the eponymous Jeremy Clarkson alongside his girlfriend Lisa Hogan and breakout star Kaleb Cooper as they navigate life running Diddly Squat Farm. But for hardcore fans who want to see behind the scenes, it’s possible to visit some of the hotspots that feature on screen.
A Guide To Jeremy Clarkson’s Cotswolds
Where Does Jeremy Clarkson Live?
Clarkson moved to the Cotswolds in 2008 after buying a 1,000-acre farm in Chipping Norton, a market town in West Oxfordshire. He now lives in a mansion on the estate (reportedly worth £12.5 million) alongside Hogan.
Although the house doesn’t feature on the show, we got some insight from Craig Hamilton Architects, who spearheaded a big renovation a while back. ‘The current proposed house has been conceived as a modest country house or gentrified farmhouse which gives the appearance of having grown over time,’ reads a planning statement. ‘The south wing, with its formal front, is modelled on 18th and early 19th Century farmhouses and modest country houses which were gentrified at that time, often retaining the more utilitarian service wings in a simpler form tucked behind the formal facades.’
Who Are Jeremy Clarkson’s Neighbours?
The Cotswolds has been a hotspot for celebrities for many years now. Back in the early 2010s, a group of famous locals including former Prime Minister David Cameron and Blur bassist Alex James (who runs the annual Big Feastival on his farm) were dubbed the ‘Chipping Norton set’.
Recently, Chipping Norton and the nearby towns have seen an influx in A-list guests: the Beckhams have a mansion in Great Tew – shown in the 2023 Netflix documentary Beckham – while Kate Moss owns a ten-bedroom home in Little Farringdon. Plus, it’s been reported that chat show host Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi relocated to the Cotswolds from LA in 2023.
The area has even attracted royalty: Zara and Mike Tindall live in a seven-bedroom farmhouse there called Aston Farm, located beside Princess Anne’s Gatcombe Park estate.
Places To Visit For Clarkson’s Farm Fans
Diddly Squat Farm Shop
Of course, the prime attraction for Clarkson’s Farm fans is Diddly Squat farm itself – but can you visit? Well, while parts of the farm are on private land, Diddy Squat Farm Shop is open to the public, which gives you a good view of the site. It sells produce grown on the farm including jams, chutneys, oils and seasonings, alongside show memorabilia such as T-shirts, caps and candles. You can also stop by The Big View Cafe for a Hawkstone beer and a bite to eat, with table seating available in the lambing barn. Don’t forget to snap a quick selfie by the entrance sign before you go.

The Farmer’s Dog
Anyone who is up to date with the latest series will know Clarkson’s latest venture is his pub, The Farmer’s Dog. Housed in a 15th century barn near Burford, the recently revamped pub has a classic Cotswolds feel, serving British food using produce grown at Diddly Squat as well as farms nearby. The menu includes dishes like steak pie and spring chicken and pork sausage casserole, alongside a Sunday roast, plus Hawkstone beer and Lisa’s Le Pop Fizz, a sparkling wine made from grapes grown on the Woodchester Valley Estate.
If you can’t get a table, there’s also The Farmer’s Puppy next door, more of a takeaway-style spot serving burgers and beer.

Hawkstone
Just down the road you’ll find Clarkson’s brewery, Hawkstone. Pop in for a pint at the bar, or book onto one of the tours, where you can learn all about the history of the brand and see first-hand how the brewing process works (with lots of sampling along the way).

Chipping Norton
There’s plenty to do around the picture-perfect town of Chipping Norton. Explore the many independent stores and cafes lining its streets, and pick up local produce at the weekly Chipping Norton Market, which comes to town every Wednesday. You can also learn about the area’s history at the Chipping Norton Museum, or venture slightly further afield to see Chastleton House, one of England’s most grand Jacobean estates.
The Bull Charlbury
The nearby town of Charlbury is also worth a visit to check out foodie hotspot The Bull – a haunt of Clarkson himself. And if you’re a lucky Soho House member (or have a friend who is), stop by Soho Farmhouse for lunch at Japanese restaurant Pen Yen and enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the spa.
