Ahluwalia Teams Up With PUMA On New Trainer
From the runway to the streets of London, Priya Ahluwalia is on a roll. The British designer has just unveiled her first ever collaboration with sportswear giant PUMA, reimagining its signature Suede sneaker through a new lens. The design, which was inspired by photographs and books depicting sport from the Global South, features new dynamic curves and an ombre gradient metallic effect cast in a monotone black and silver palette.
‘The Suede has meant so much to so many cultures over the decades, from Hip-Hop to skateboarding to streetwear,’ commented the designer. ‘For my first trainer collaboration, I wanted to honour that history while infusing it with Ahluwalia’s design language, exploring texture, function, and detail in a way that feels both familiar and completely new.’
The PUMA Suede by Ahluwalia will be available at ahluwalia.world from 1 October, and at puma.com from 4 October.
John Smedley Celebrates 15 Years Of The Campaign For Wool
Knitwear specialist John Smedley has announced a new collaboration with The Campaign for Wool, in celebration of its 15th anniversary. One of King Charles III’s championed charities, it spotlights the provenance, natural fibres and skilled hands that bring British wool to life.
Crafted from Bluefaced Leicester and Masham wools – with each yarn marked as being natural, renewable, biodegradable and entirely British – the unisex capsule comprises jumpers (marked with the slogan ‘Choose Wool’), scarves, hats and gloves. Each garment is also completely traceable, from sheep to store.
Alongside the capsule of garments, the brand will also release its own British wool yarns and patterns for the first time.
‘This collection is not just about garments,’ commented Jess Mcguire-Dudley, Managing Director at John Smedley. ‘It’s about stewardship. It’s about recognising that wool is one of our most exceptional fibres – and that the future of fashion lies in making better choices.’
The John Smedley x The Campaign For Wool Collection launches on 1 October at johnsmedley.com.
Robinson Pelham Gives Celine Dion Her Sparkle In New Charlotte Tilbury Campaign
Cosmic celebrations are afoot over at Charlotte Tilbury. The beauty brand has just released a glittering collection for the upcoming holiday season – alongside a campaign featuring global music star Celine Dion.
The campaign, which is inspired by Dion’s cosmic return to the spotlight, is dubbed a celebration of wish-making, self-belief and transformation, with sparkling beauty looks that could rival the stars.
And to top it all off, Dion delivered some extra shine by wearing a pair of gold and diamond earrings crafted by British jeweller Robinson Pelham: the Tsar Star earrings.
‘We adore Celine Dion – she’s such a legendary global music icon who embodies strength, elegance and the power of reinvention,’ said Vanessa Chilton, Creative Director at Robinson Pelham. ‘When we first saw these images they took our breath away – she looks every bit as extraordinary as she is. We are honoured to be part of this remarkable campaign and to support Charlotte Tilbury, a fellow British brand we have long admired.’
The Charlotte Tilbury 2025 holiday collection is now live at charlottetilbury.com, and the Tsar Star earrings are available to shop at robinsonpelham.com.
The British Museum Is Giving London Its Own Met Gala
Just weeks after London’s biggest fashion event, the city is getting its own Met Gala courtesy of the British Museum.
‘We’d been talking about there being a gap for a sort of national flagship event,’ explained Nicholas Cullinan, director of the British Museum (and the gala’s version of Anna Wintour), in an interview with The Telegraph. But while the Met Gala might be a source of inspiration, it’s not going to be the exact blueprint for what the British Museum has planned.
‘I’ve never been to the Met Gala – said without bitterness!’ Cullinan added. ‘You’re not going to replicate [an event like] that – and I don’t think you would want to. It’s an incredible event for New York, but London is quite different. It’s important that our ball reflects the British Museum in terms of who’s on the committee and who comes – to make it feel very London.’
From this, we gather that this will be, for the most part, a gala grounded in Britishness and London culture (even if the bare bones resemble the Met Gala). So what can we expect? Click here for everything we know so far.
