This members' club is fast becoming London's hottest after-hours destination

London is overflowing with members’ clubs, particularly in Mayfair where you’ll find some of the city’s most exclusive. But when it comes to party hotspots, the name to know is NYX: the subterranean members-only bar and private lounge tucked away beneath palatial Greek restaurant Gaia

Following successful outposts in glamorous cities like Monte Carlo, Marbella and Miami, NYX landed in Mayfair in 2023, and quickly became the go-to destination for London’s in-the-know socialites – attracting a string of A-listers from Naomi Campbell to Tom Cruise. The speakeasy-style bar is beloved for its late-night opening hours, lavish interiors and sophisticated feel… but how can you gain access? We bring you the lowdown below.

Why You Need To Know About NYX Mayfair

Late-Night Party Vibe

A key USP of NYX is its opening hours: the bar is one of the few high-end venues in the area to stay open until 4 – 5am. Naturally this gives it a party spirit, which is enhanced by a carefully curated DJ programme designed to gradually build up the atmosphere throughout the night. From 9pm until midnight, NYX offers an intimate lounge experience where guests can socialise with a cocktail or two. Then, as the early hours approach, the bar transforms into a lively dancefloor where people can dance until dawn. The music line-up is kept under wraps to maintain an element of surprise, but we have word that the 2026 programme is looking especially exciting, with many high-profile bookings in the pipeline. Look out for special events too: last year NYX hosted big parties for NYE and Halloween.

Vibrant Interiors

Like Gaia, NYX is inspired by a Greek deity (this time it’s Nyx, goddess of the night), and this extends into the interiors – which come courtesy of award-winning interior design studio First Within. Drawing from ancient Greek figures, the design explores themes of power and mystery, creating a space that feels immersive without being gimmicky or overtly themed. Rich fabrics, abstracted feather motifs and moon-like lighting are used throughout, with plush velvet armchairs, shimmering mirrors, ethereal dark blues and a glowing red bar giving it a sultry, seductive feel. NYX feels opulent, but inviting at the same time. No surprise it recently scooped up an award for Best Interior Design at the 2025 London Design Awards.

Killer Cocktails

Cocktails, meanwhile, are designed with as much care as the space itself. Expert mixologists use pioneering techniques and homemade elixirs to create truly unique drinks which draw on the Greek-Mediterranean theme. Signatures include the Lychee & Hibiscus, made with rose water and champagne; and the Gamma Negroni, a smoother take on the classic which incorporates subtle caramel notes. Alongside these bespoke concoctions, you’ll find all the classics: margaritas, palomas, negronis, you name it. And if cocktails aren’t your vibe, there’s an extensive selection of wine and champagne on offer too.

Dining is also available at NYX, with the menu focusing on high-end European cuisine with global influences, and the option to book private spaces for you and your friends. Alternatively, you can have dinner first at Gaia, which serves Aegean-inspired fare amid glamorous settings.
