The Complete Guide To The Barnes Celeb Set
Stanley Tucci
Though he heralds from the US, and can often be found waxing lyrical about his Italian roots, it is London that Stanley Tucci has made his home. He made the permanent move to the UK in 2013 after he married his wife, the English-native literary agent (and sister to actress Emily Blunt) Felicity Blunt. Settling down together in the leafy suburb of SW13, Tucci described their house as a ‘very welcoming 1900s semi-detached’ done-up in a Mid-Century Modern style. As to why the couple opted for Barnes, Tucci told The Standard that he ‘love[s] the area’s proximity to the River Thames, the Wetlands Centre, and the local duck pond’. His favourite hidden gem? Barnes Farmers Market, which he claims is the best of its kind in London.

Originally from Lincolnshire, the Miranda and Downton Abbey star first made the move to Barnes all the way back in 1975. She and her late husband, music publisher Peter Owen, who passed away in 2016 from dementia, raised their two boys in the area. ‘I’m very devoted to Barnes. It is a lovely hybrid between London and the country,’ she told Time & Leisure. ‘I love the river and we’re near to Putney Common and Richmond Park for glorious walks. I also love the independent shops and the Olympic Cinema.’
