Here's everything we know about season 6

Doesn’t Emily in Greece have a certain ring to it? After the Roman escapades of season 5, it seems Europe’s most stylish expat isn’t done collecting passport stamps just yet. The next chapter of Emily in Paris is officially in motion, with season 6 set to whisk Emily Cooper off to new climes once more. Here’s everything we know so far.

Emily In Paris Season 6: Plot, Cast, Release Date & More

Filming is due to begin in May, and Emily in Paris is clearly expanding its glamorous footprint. After the events of seasons 4 and 5, which saw the ever optimistic American marketing maven Emily Cooper shipped off from Agence Grateau in Paris to explore new business opportunities for the firm in Rome, in a new twist, season 6’s story is set to unfold across Greece and Monaco.

The news was revealed during a special panel at PaleyFest on 10 April, where creator Darren Star appeared alongside cast members Lily Collins (Emily), Ashley Park (Mindy) and Lucas Bravo (Gabriel). After much back and forth throughout season 5, Emily and her Italian beau Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) decided to part ways for the final time, following the series’ detours from Paris to Rome, Tuscany and finally Venice. So with one Italian detour all wrapped up, it seems it is time to venture deeper into the continent.

Speaking at the press conference, Star noted Emily in Paris season 6 will evolve ‘organically’ and, thank goodness, ‘never permanently leave its Parisian base’.

Emily in Paris season 5 was released in December 2025 and racked up 26.8 million views in just 11 days, hitting number one in Netflix’s charts across 24 countries. It was a success that led the streaming giant to renew the show as early as January 2026.

What Will Happen In Season 6?

While plot details remain tightly under wraps, there are a few details we can glean from that conference, tidbits spilled by cast members, and where season 5 left us.

First, here’s why Greece is on the cards. Cast your mind back to the season 5 finale, when Emily walked away from her romance with Marcello, with another era of singledom looming on the horizon… For about two minutes. Abandoning his high-pressure Michelin starred restaurant and embarking on a new adventure as a private yacht chef, Gabriel (Bravo) pens a postcard to his former flame, Emily. Inviting her to join him in Greece, our lovelorn American’s response remains to be seen – but it’s no exaggeration to say the pair have unfinished business.

This plot-twist thrown into the finale followed a mellow season for Gabriel. But we’re told the fan-favourite chef will return in full brooding yet quippy form in season 6, with the actor telling HELLO he ‘guarantees’ a ‘fun Gabriel’ will be back. ‘We’re going there, guaranteed,’ he said. ‘That’s why he took a step back, to clear his mind and come back in a fun way.’

It’s good news for Bravo, who publicly slammed Gabriel’s character arc after the events of season 4, telling IndieWire the series ‘became not fun for me to shoot’ as he watched a character her previously felt connected to ‘being slowly turned into guacamole’. He went on to tease his exit, adding: ‘I tried for seasons to bring nuances but we don’t have much liberty on set. We cannot change a word or an emotion. They know what they want and we just have to comply. It makes me question if I want to be part of season 5… because my contract ends at season 4. I really want to see if Gabriel gets back to his fun, cheeky, playful, alive self. Because three seasons playing melancholic, sad, depressed, and lost is not fun anymore.’

Well it looks like Bravo’s words caught Star’s attention. ‘I can’t imagine the series without Gabriel,’ the series creator told Variety in December when season 5 premiered in Paris. With many fans considering Emily and Gabriel’s relationship as endgame, Star concurred that Gabriel is Emily’s ‘big love’, adding that their season 5 scenes carried ‘a little nostalgia… which spoke to the idea that the show has matured’. The depth of their relationship, he noted, comes from ‘a past… with memories and good times and bad times’.

As for Monaco, that’s still open to speculation – but we think it might have something to do with Nico’s (Paul Forman) proposal to Mindy (Park) in the season 5 finale. Could this be the glitzy wedding destination of the supremely moneyed couple? Only time will tell.

Until then, we still have some untangling to do in Paris. While Nico and Mindy are engaged, the Shanghai heiress is still emotionally (and physically) involved with Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) – who, yes, also happens to be the ex-boyfriend of Mindy’s best friend Emily. As Collins herself hinted to Netflix’s Tudum, ‘By the end of the season, everything really hits the fan: Mindy might be engaged, but there’s still tension with Alfie. It’ll be interesting to see how that drama unfolds.’

It’s not hard to picture Emily trading Parisian pavements for the sun-drenched allure of the Aegean, gallivanting around the whitewashed villas cascading down Santorini’s cliffs or relishing in the molten sunsets of Mykonos. Wherever she lands, her suitcase will certainly be packed with statement looks ready to inspire a new era of Greek island dressing.
