Anya Hindmarch’s New Concept Store Has Landed On Earth

Anya Hindmarch has packed away her summer ice creams and beach bags in preparation for her next concept store – and this time, she’s going stellar. Joined by the Peanuts gang, Snoopy First Beagle In Space is set to take over Pont Street from 22 August until 11 October. Here’s what to expect.

Didn’t manage to get your hands on either of the previous two Anya Hindmarch x Peanuts collaborations? Well, as they say, third time’s a charm. After the sell out success (and internet fame) of the Beagle Scouts collection last year, Snoopy, Woodstock, Charlie Brown and friends are back on Pont Street – and gearing up for a brand new adventure in the stars.

‘You may have guessed by now that since I was a kid, I’ve been obsessed with all things Snoopy,’ says the designer. ‘But Snoopy First Beagle In Space is the stuff of Snoopy collector dreams…’

That’s right. This time, the gang are trading in their camping gear for space suits as they prepare for lift off from the Village Hall. Transformed into a Snoopy-inspired space station for the occasion, the concept store has been decked out with satellites, stars, craters and its very own moon. 

And inside is equally as impressive. Visitors are encouraged to open the hatch and step inside mission control; a sleek, all-silver flight deck kitted out with monitors and display panels – and finished off with Anya Hindmarch’s brand new capsule collection.

Comprising space-inspired bags and accessories, including a hand-sequinned drawstring bag adorned with a beaded beagle, a series of silver card cases, charms and pouches (all decorated with Snoopy motifs, naturally) and limited edition versions of the brand’s signature house designs.

The collection orbits around Anya Hindmarch’s brand new Mini Mortimer Top Handle Tote, a compact version of the brand’s hero Mortimer bag, and dubbed ‘the cool younger sister’. Carrying the same hallmarks as its predecessor – Florence-made, Gold standard leather, a structured silhouette and interior organisers – the new Mini comes exclusively embossed with Astronaut Snoopy.

Snoopy First Beagle In Space is also well-stocked for Peanuts fans. As those familiar with Snoopy will know, he became the first fictional space pioneer to land on the moon, thanks to a 1969 comic strip created by artist Charles M. Schulz just months before the real-life moon landing. (Ever since, Nasa astronauts have been taking Snoopy on space missions, with the most recent taking place on the Artemis I flight in 2022.) The comic, declaring him the first beagle on the moon, can be seen on posters in the concept store – alongside themed mugs, figurines, puzzles, pins and stationery.

Once you’ve had your fill, disembark in exploration of another adventure… a few paces away, in the Anya Cafe. Here, you can join Snoopy and his pals for themed coffee, biscuits and treats, which both you and your canine companion can enjoy.
