A fruity cocktail inspired by the hit show
Netflix’s The Perfect Couple is the show everyone’s talking about right now. Inspired by Elin Hilderbrand’s novel of the same name and set on the picturesque island of Nantucket, the detective drama is centred around a mysterious murder, which happens on the wedding weekend of one of the area’s wealthiest families. However, there are many lighter talking points aside from the central plot.
Firstly, there’s the now-viral dance scene from the opening credits, which has Nicole Kidman, Eve Hewson, Meghann Fahy and the rest of the star-studded dance jiving around to Meghan Trainor’s ‘Criminals’. But another detail fans have picked up on is the delicious-looking blackberry mojitos that were circulating on the night of the murder.
Described by the family’s patriarch Tag Winbury (Liev Schreiber) as ‘wine cooler but better’, the cocktail is served in big jugs to the many guests of the Winbury’s mansion, with an attractive purple colour and fruity taste. Keen to give it a go? We share a recipe below.
Blackberry Mojito Recipe
Mojitos are a summer classic, made with white rum, fresh mint, sugar and soda water. They can be jazzed up by incorporating all kinds of different fruits, but this version uses blackberries, adding the perfect tart, slightly sweet addition to the Cuban cocktail. Below we share a popular recipe from TikTok, created by user @ruthhiann. You could also use larger quantities of each and mix this in a big bowl to create a punch-style mojito.
