The kitchen remains a seasonal hotspot, working directly with foragers and local producers to bring a fresh (and minimal waste) menu. For the festivities, the pub has curated a menu of British classics – all vegan, of course – that would surely convert even the most adamant of meat-eaters. Expect to find savoury delights like deep fried shamembert, sweet potato and squash soup, nut roast and beet wellington, as well as sweet highlights such as sticky toffee pudding, festive trifle and plum crumble. Hearty and delicious. Two courses for £20, three courses and a glass of prosecco for £30. thespreadeaglelondon.co.uk

Duck & Waffle

Duck & Waffle Christmas 2021

This Christmas, Duck & Waffle will be whisking guests away from London to its very own Polar Express in the sky. Explore the newly transformed restaurant, which now resembles a train station complete with platforms, old-fashioned fixtures, a ticket kiosk and handsome waiting room. Feasting will take place in the main dining room, which takes inspiration from the magical, North Pole-bound locomotive. Executive Chef Elliott Grover will be presenting a specially curated four-course festive menu made with traditional ingredients on Christmas Day, featuring Christmas Spirit (Duck & Waffle’s ‘naughty’ version of a hot chocolate), Lobster Cocktail with Marie Rose sauce and a Black Truffle and Wild Mushroom Risotto. For dessert, guests can choose from the likes of Homemade Christmas Pudding with brandy custard and a Chocolate and Cherry Roulade with cherry ice cream. And – because Christmas isn’t Christmas without one – the meal will conclude with Duck & Waffle’s signature cheese plate. The Christmas menu will be served from 1130am to 5pm on Christmas day, £120 per adult and £45 for children under 10. duckandwaffle.com
