Fortnum & Mason has just launched its Vintage Champagne & Caviar Experience Hamper
There’s something magical about receiving a wicker hamper neatly filled with festive treats. Piled high with biscuits, mince pies, tea and cheese, they make the perfect gift for the foodie in your life (or special treat for the family). But this hamper from Fortnum & Mason takes the concept to new heights, retailing at a whopping £5,000.
A Look Inside Fortnum & Mason’s £5k Hamper
In recent years, London favourite Fortnum & Mason has sent shoppers reeling with its Imperial Hamper – a sequence of feasting hampers designed to see you from Christmas Day through to New Year’s Eve. Priced for a pretty penny (read: £6k), it goes viral every year for its assortment of treats and gifts.
But this year, the spotlight falls on another gifting option: the limited edition Vintage Champagne & Caviar Experience Hamper. Designed for the rarest of special occasions, the hamper brings two of Fortnum’s specialties under one wicker roof. It’s so exclusive, in fact, that only 10 hampers are available to snap up this year.
As expected from a hamper of this price and calibre, there are plenty of luxurious products – but the stars of the show are, of course, the caviar and champagne. Inside, you’ll find a tasting flight of caviar, as well as a generous bottle of vintage champagne. They’re joined by more boozy gifts – Louis Roederer rosé, English-made vodka and two premade Vesper martinis – as well as an abundance of snacks, perfect for pairing with your A-list treat. Think mini blinis, truffle honey, olives and creme fraiche.
Also tucked away in the hamper is a selection of tools and tableware, so you can really show off in front of guests. There’s practical bits – a caviar server, champagne stopper and cooler tote – as well as some more decorative add-ons, like cocktail picks, a mother of pearl spoon box and even a cream linen tablecloth with matching napkins.
And to top it all off, there’s even a Friends of Fortnum’s gift card, which offers a one-year membership to the recipient (worth £100).
So is it worth it? Well, if you’ve got £5k to spare, it’s certainly an impressive spread – and the hamper is worth more than its retail price, if you added up the price of all the items inside. But it’s still £5k, so… one can dream.
