A series of outdoor feasts will take place at the Hampshire hotel
Set in the heart of the New Forest, Lime Wood is one of the UK’s best loved boutique country hotels – renowned for its idyllic setting and standout spa. But this summer, there’s even more reason to go: a new pop-up outdoor restaurant is launching within its grounds.
Lime Wood To Open Summer Pop-Up Restaurant
Set beneath the cedar trees on the lawn, HH&Co Forest Kitchen will offer al fresco dining on Sundays throughout the summer months, with food from a roster of exciting chefs. Names like Pearly Queen founder Tom Brown and Canteen founder Jessica Filbey will be joining Lime Wood’s resident chefs Angela Hartnett and Luke Holder to cook a series of lunches.

Dishes will be based around the Asado wood-fired grill, with a focus on open-flame cooking. Hartnett and Holder will kick off the series on 8 June, followed by a foraging-focused event hosted by TikTok-famous farmer-chef Julius Roberts alongside Kitchen On The Edge curator Valentine Warner (29 June). OMA’s head chef Jorge Paredes will spotlight meat at his event (13 July), for Brown the focus will be on fish (24 August), and Filbey will round things off with a veg-first dinner (7 September).
Designed to be a relaxed affair, The Forest Kitchen lunches will begin at 2pm with nibbles, drinks and live music, before sitting down at 2.45pm. Each chef will provide a short introduction to the meal, with dishes served from 3.15pm and wrapping up around 6pm. There will be four courses alongside paired wines and drinks.
Guests who want to make a weekend of it can reside in one of the hotel’s 33 rooms – which include two Forest Cottages, a Forest Cabin and a Lake Cabin. The dazzling Herb House spa, meanwhile, offers Bamford treatments, a rooftop herb garden with its own pool, and a cafe, Raw & Cured. Lime Wood is also home to Italian restaurant Hartnett Holder & Co, helmed by the eponymous Hartnett and Holder, which is all about fresh home cooking, with a strong focus on local vegetables and British shellfish.
