Got your office Christmas party this week? Or a Friendsmas dinner? Nurture yourself back to health at Pho’s free Soho pop-up, which promises to expel hangovers with replenishing noodle soup, IV drips and face masks.

Pho-Fix: London’s Hangover-Curing Pop-Up Arrives This Week

Silly season has well and truly arrived, with the next two weeks in particular notorious for office hangovers as we let our hair down and enjoy a mid-week drink or three. That’s why Vietnamese restaurant Pho has decided to launch a pop-up dedicated to curing us: not only with steaming hot bowls of noodles, but also with IV drips.

Popping up in Soho on 12 and 13 December 2023, Pho-Fix is free to attend, with over 700 bowls of Pho and 700 juices available for bleary-eyed Londoners – given on a first come, first served basis.

Typically made from stock, noodles and spices, often with meat or a vegan protein added, Vietnamese pho is renowned for its hangover-curing abilities. While it feels hearty and filling, it’s light enough not to leave you feeling sick – and the vitamin-rich broth helps rehydrate your body. The dish is also packed with carbs (a must) and salt, which replenishes saline deficiencies.

Pho’s Marketing Directory Libby Andrews says: ‘For twenty years our customers and staff have raved about our soups as their go-to hangover cure. During the Christmas party season, there is no better way to replenish and refuel when you’re feeling a bit worse for wear.’

The complimentary juices on offer, too, are designed to revitalize the body, featuring ingredients like ginger, mint, lime and carrot – all known for their anti-inflammatory and restorative effects.

That’s not all, though. IV drips will also be on offer courtesy of London clinic Effect Doctors, alongside eye gels and hydrating face masks from Patchology.

IV drips are a safe way of rehydrating the body – as Dr. William Buxton, CEO of Effect Doctors, explains: ‘Our carefully curated IV drips allow you to rehydrate, refresh and rejuvenate. It’s perfect for alleviating the effects of a night of heavy drinking and replenishes the essential salts in your body, offering you a way to perk up without reaching for another cup of coffee.’
