The Arding Rooms, Clapham
It’s a rare members’ club south of the river… Clapham’s very first private members club has just opened its doors, taking over the former Arding & Hobbs department store. Intending to be the go-to space for professionals and families alike to work and socialise, The Arding Rooms hopes to help Clapham locals (so often trapped working from home at the kitchen table) to meet, socialise and network. Members can expect a restaurant, bar, events spaces and co-working spaces all scattered across the 115-year-old building. Elsewhere, find a Third Space gym, and a rooftop terrace to top it all off.
What’s The Fee? Membership is priced from £90 per month, with a £300 joining fee.
Where? Arding & Hobbs, 10 St John’s Road, London SW11 1PN
NEXUS Club London, South Kensington
London is the historic home of members’ clubs, but NEXUS is changing the game, bringing its loyal legion of fans from across the Atlantic and a healthy dose of American flair. Shareholders include Tiger Woods and Justin Timberlake, with NEXUS starting life as an ultra-luxurious resort in the Bahamas. Next came New York, and now London – South Kensington to be precise. The NEXUS London clubhouse spans four floors, and features a cutting edge gym, a vibrant bar, a casual cafe-cum-co-work-space, a dedicated space for children and plenty more. Find out more here.
What’s The Fee? Global annual memberships are currently priced at £9,000 per year plus taxes, with the price fixed for the first five years. This membership provides benefits for the primary member, their spouse or partner and any children up to the age of 40, with perks across the world thanks to NEXUS’s global footprint.
