A Guide To Copenhagen Fashion Week SS26

What Is Copenhagen Fashion Week?

Organised by the Danish Fashion Institute, Copenhagen Fashion Week (CPHFW) is a large-scale fashion event comprised of catwalk shows, showrooms, presentations and events held throughout Copenhagen. The event, while on a smaller schedule than the likes of New York and London, is regarded as the industry’s fifth global fashion week.

When Is It?

Copenhagen Fashion Week SS26 takes place between Monday 4 and Friday 8 August 2025.

The bi-annual event’s regular months are January (for Autumn/Winter) and August (for Spring/Summer).

Where Is It?

All events during Copenhagen Fashion Week take place in the Danish capital, across various locations within the city.

Can Anyone Go?

Like other global Fashion Week celebrations, Copenhagen typically offers a combination of public and private events – although shows are usually invite-only. Most designers tend to livestream or upload a video of their show, however, so you can still watch from home.

CPHFW NEWTALENT

Like BFC NEWGEN, the Danish contingent’s CPHFW NEWTALENT scheme has been designed to support emerging local talent on a global scale. Presenting three to five opportunities for up-and-coming Nordic designers, the scheme provides ‘monetary support, mentorships, partnership offerings, professional advisors, onboarding to the official Copenhagen Fashion Week Show & Presentation Schedule, event participation, showroom activations, alumni network, and extensive PR through Copenhagen Fashion Week’s international community and channels.’

Members of CPHFW NEWTALENT will receive support for three consecutive seasons, before moving on to an alumni scheme that will continue to offer mentorship across showcasing, events, networking, business support communication, and sponsorship opportunities.

‘We are proud to introduce CPHFW NEWTALENT as a formalised structure to how Copenhagen Fashion Week is investing in the next generation of exceptional talent,’ emphasised Cecilie Thorsmark, CEO Copenhagen Fashion Week. ‘With responsibility an overarching and foundational focus of our organisation, this scheme will allow us to continue to grow our dedication to talent. It is a vital step we have taken to provide an encompassing program for the talents to build their brand on an international scale and to introduce them to our global audience.’

These talents will be showcased during fashion week in the CPHFW NEWTALENT showroom, which will pop in a yet undisclosed location within the city. This season’s cohort includes:

  • Anne Sofie Madsen
  • Berner Kühl
  • Bonnetje

Sustainability

Copenhagen Fashion Week has become synonymous with sustainable creativity in recent years, following the unveiling of a three-year Sustainability Action Plan back in 2020. The plan proposed a system of requirements for brands to be part of the official schedule, and was officially introduced from CPHFW AW23.

‘Sustainability is the core tenet to our vision of Copenhagen Fashion Week as a forward thinking representation of Nordic talent to our global community,’ added Cecilie Thorsmark.

The Action Plan is revised and released every three years, raising the bar for fashion brands to think and act with people and planet in mind.

Copenhagen Fashion Week At The V&A

Copenhagen Fashion Week continues to make waves across the pond. Following on from an announcement earlier this year that the British Fashion Council (BFC) would be rolling out new CPHFW-approved Sustainability Requirements at London Fashion Week, the Danish fashion event has now teamed up with the V&A for a special talk.

Forming part of the V&A’s ‘Fashion in Motion’ programme, the talk will take place later this May and explore ‘the power of collaboration between leading fashion organizations and sustainable innovators, and how these collaborations can accelerate positive change.’ Moderated by British Vogue Senior Sustainability & Features Editor Emily Chan, the panel will feature CPHFW CEO Cecilie Thorsmark, Lagos Fashion Week founder and CEO Omoyemi Akerele, and BFC Director of Membership & Designer Relations Yvie Hutton.
