Grandma chic

Copenhagen Fashion Week may have closed its doors on another successful season, but we’re still stuck on the city’s killer streetstyle game. The style set goes above and beyond every time Fashion Week rolls around, but there was one trend in particular that stood out from the crowd: triangle scarves.

The Country & Town House Responsible Buyers’ Guide

Triangle Scarves Were Everywhere At CPHFW

As far as accessories go, a headscarf isn’t typically the first one we reach for in the morning. A staple at charity shops and boot fairs, these silky scraps of fabric are probably more at home in our grandma’s wardrobe than the streets of Fashion Week. Or so we thought.

The beginning of the month saw the City of Spires welcome hundreds of fashion forward guests to its streets as part of CPHFW, and the number one accessory on everyone’s heads was, surprisingly, a triangle scarf. From oversized head-coverings and rockstar bandanas to crochet pull-overs and patterned silk scarves, the Copenhagen fashion girlies took their Grandma chic seriously this season.

But how exactly did they wear their triangle scarves? We’ve rounded up some of our favourite styling ideas below.

How To Style It

1. Loose Waves

The ultimate low maintenance look. We love how this Fashion Week-goer has thrown a bright blue bandana over their hair (styled in loose, natural waves) for a relaxed, nostalgic feel.

2. Maximalist Scarfing

While many opted for the small, folded triangle scarf, we also caught plenty of the style set wearing oversized silk scarves. This look covers and tucks away all flyaways, tying the scarf in a tight knot just below the ear to let tendrils of fabric flutter loosely down your shoulder.

3. Slick Back

And when this year’s major hair trend meets this season’s biggest hair accessory? You get a slick back bun neatly covered by a triangle scarf. Bonus points for a summery pop of colour.
