That’s Alan Carr-stle, to you. Inspired by his 2025 run on the BBC’s Celebrity Traitors and wanting to celebrate his 50th birthday in style, the comedian upped sticks and bought a huge Scottish castle in need of some TLC – and, naturally, he wants to take us along for the ride. It’s going to be a big project – but with Carr’s flair for navigating any situation (or mishap) he finds himself in with a laugh, it’s sure to be a good watch. ‘Some men when they have a midlife crisis buy a Lamborghini or grow a ponytail, but me – I want my very own castle,’ said Carr. ‘Since I was a boy in Northampton, I’ve always dreamt big, and have always been enchanted with the history and romance of a stately home and as I turn 50, I feel it’s my time. Interior Design Masters with Alan Carr (2021-Present)

Then there’s the series that supposedly sparked Carr’s enthusiasm for interior design. Before he wielded a paintbrush himself, the comedian spent several years watching up-and-coming designers battle it out to become the next big name in UK interiors. Hosted by Carr since 2021, Interior Design Masters is a competition series pitting 10 amateur interior designers (all of varying degrees of experience in the industry) head-to-head, in an attempt to be crowned the Interior Design Master and win a life-changing commercial design contract. Each week, a new challenge is set, testing their ability to design creatively and uniquely while also fulfilling a commercial or residential brief – from redesigning shops, restaurants and salons to creating living spaces for families. Amanda & Alan’s Italian Job (2023-2024)

Do you remember when Italy sold off a swathe of rural homes for just €1 a pop? One duo who gladly took the Italian government up on their offer was Amanda Holden and Alan Carr, who used the opportunity to do up neighbouring flats in Sicily – with the goal to sell them and split the proceeds between Children in Need and Comic Relief. And so, Amanda & Alan’s Italian Job was born. The two spent three months renovating the building containing both of their flats, transforming them into one glorious home – and earning plenty of laughs along the way. The series proved so popular that they did another just one year later – this time tackling a three-storey townhouse in Tuscany – before setting off for projects in Spain and Greece.

Amanda & Alan’s Spanish Job (2025)

Hot off the success of Italian Job, the duo set its sights on a new DIY project in Andalusia. Tucked away in the picture-perfect Granadan village of Moclín, the sprawling three-storey villa that slowly transforms over the course of the show had previously been empty for 35 years – and needed a complete overhaul. Holden and Carr originally envisioned the space as a boutique B&B, designed to encourage more tourism in the local area. (For those who don’t mind spoilers, you can look inside the Spanish guest house here.) The show even has a Christmas special, where the pair went back to Moclín to throw a massive farewell party at Casa Alamanda to thank the villagers who helped with the renovation.

Amanda & Alan’s Greek Job (2026)

The latest instalment in the Amanda & Alan universe was a big fat Greek renovation. After making their way through Italy and Spain, Holden and Carr set their sights on the idyllic Ionian island of Corfu, which was home to small (but mightily difficult) property, complete with ivy growing through the windows, mud on the floor and sewage pipes running through the kitchen.
